"You have got to be kidding me!" Tan Duyi exploded. It was well past midnight now, and he was still stuck in the capital. To make things worse, Chen Bohai was with him! This was the worst day in his entire life - he decided.
"I'm sure we already passed by here." Bohai muttered underneath his breath. He was also getting frustrated.
"Yeah! We passed by here already! We've been going in circles!" Tan Duyi yelled.
"I know. I know. Sorry." Bohai apologized. Since he had been here one more time than Duyi, he had been in charge of leading them out. Which meant that it was his fault that they were lost.
Bohai looked around the small four-way alleyway they were in right now. He had no clue which way to go. He was waiting, for something of a sign of some sort. Finally, as he was about to give up, something moved in the distance. Without warning, he chased after it. Duyi, who was still complaining behind him had to rush after him cutting his complaints short.
Bohai grabbed hold of the thing moving pretty quickly. To his surprise, the thing moving was a person. A person he knew.
"Hey! Its the copper coin boy!" He exclaimed in surprise.
The boy shuddered in fear after being caught by a Monster. He refused to look up, but after a while of not getting hurt he decided to peep a glance.
"What're you doing?" Tan Duyi asked in a mad tone.
"He can help us find the way out." Bohai said with a big smile. "Can't you?" He asked the boy, his smile slowly fading as he made eye contact with the scared boy. The boy nodded his head in a rush, scared of what would happen to him if he refused.
After five minutes of walking, the city walls were in sight. The boy had led them to the edge of the city, just as promised. He was getting ready to flee, when Bohai stopped him. The boy was about to pee his pants, but Bohai let him go suddenly. He didn't hesitate to run away.
As he ran, he felt something in his pocket. When he reached his hand inside, he was shocked to see not one, but two, copper coins. A big smile spread across his grubby face as he continued to run.
-
Ding. Ding. Ding.
The bell that rang whenever the gate opened woke everyone up in the middle of the night. The Tan estate slowly went to the middle clearing to greet the return of Tan Duyi and Bohai, but to their surprise, the people entering weren't them.
The disgrace of the family - Tan Ying - was walking in brazenly. By his side, a bandaged Ye Feng walked haughtily.
"What're you doing here?" One of the people shouted. They were angry about being woken up by someone useless.
"Leave." Another shouted.
While the people gathered yelled their complaints, the bell rang again; Tan Duyi and Bohai entered this time.
Tan Ting and Ye Feng were wondering who would enter right behind them, and never would they have imagined seeing their worst nightmare - Bohai, Just Bohai - waltz inside.
