Chapter 379 - Sandy Sky

Zeek studied Vhul-Adune's movement as it manifested itself. The Goliath scratched away at the barrier separating both realities.

Neon blue sparks erupted out of the impact zones, falling down to the seemingly endless cavern known as Uvurim.

Ventelu's eyes fell on his Storm Chaser. It gently screeched, showing content and easiness regardless of what danger was ahead.

"Movement pattern suggests Vhul-Adune is coming through with an eagerness to sink this region," Zeek noted. "Something tells me it isn't too happy."

Nestres, Ether, and Hylo stumbled through the rift. Each warrior equipped with their combat gear. Ventelu smiled at Ether, showing his delight from fighting alongside a friend.

"Hmm... engage using Sunburn High formation. Do not let Vhul-Adune push forward," Zeek ordered. "Gatruda, on your ready."

Hylo glanced at her father, who was dressed in his ceremony combat uniform. Which was another term for fighting just about naked, a form for Variants to show off their pain tolerance and raw strength.

The only thing covering Ether was a black scarf that covered his neck and chin, with an equally black skirt to shield his privates.

Ruda yelled with excitement as he careened through the sky, holding both arms up high. He began singing to the Goliath, which released hypersonic waves powerful enough to counter it.

Vhul-Adune roared in unmatched anger, perfectly matching what Gat felt as she charged up her Third Rule. She lowered herself on all fours, then glared up at Vhul-Adune.

Her ribs and back glowed an ominous blue, followed by a barrage of geomagnetic explosives that countered the paranormal sand over the Goliath's body.

The force of each blast resulted in the barrier getting torn open wide enough for the Goliath to pour through. A section of its body clumped up over the region, preparing to gain strength.

"Quick, while it's charging up! Nestres, you know the formation." Zeek said.

Nestres stomped his foot on the ground, instantly amplifying the abilities of every Noble Mind that pledged to him. Ventelu took flight, so did Ether.

Fruzzy twirled her spear in her hand as she looked for the right opening. No wind struck the area, making it ideal to get to the next phase of the plan quickly.

Ether quickly swung Tellendor, unleashing gusts of solar wind to clash against the Goliath. He noticed it began moving, starting with the entity swinging at him with one of its sixteen arms.

Ventelu snatched the Zesher up, leaving the Storm Chaser to dance around the Goliath as it howled a sandstorm. It seemed like a yellow blizzard, blinding them of their target.

"We've got an opening! Fruzzy, on your ready!" Nestres ordered.

On command, the noble woman geared her arm back. Then hurled her entire body weight forward along with the spear. It barreled through the storm, progressively getting faster and stronger.

Until it erupted, clearing out sand. Zeek jumped through the sky, grinning blissfully at his target. The bola in his hand spun around before erupting out of his grasp.

It grew in size as it encased the dusty Goliath, pinning it in place. By then, Gat and Ruda partnered up to utilize their Third Rules together.

Waiting for the actual scorching to begin.

Ventelu fired a volley of arrows from his bow. Their glistening jade bodies traveled in unison, like a flock of Sky Beasts, towards their target.

Normal laws of reality ceased to exist in their wake. Time stopped functioning, same with sound.

He dove in, ready to throw Ether inside. Only for the Goliath to protest. It erupted another sandstorm, this time tougher than the last.

Particles became hot enough to form small pieces of glass. Torching Ventelu and his tame. However, Ether smiled.

Extreme heat withered away the bola, but captured Ether's strength. He drew from it, changing his hair and eye color to a bright red.

"Look! Zeek, turn the sun's temperature to its highest possible. A well timed hit can trap Vhul-Adune inside itself," Nestres explained.

Gatruda realized what was happening, so they held out for a little while longer. They weren't in any haste, especially to get payback.

Vhul-Adune noticed Zeek creeping away from the group, turning him into its primary target. The Goliath howled another sandstorm at him, then brought forward two arms.

Sand crawled into his lungs while the crystal cutaway at his skin. Everything felt in complete agony, especially since the sand came from a paranormal source.

"All right, Ruda. Zeek's in trouble, let's do this," Gat gave the go-ahead.

"Ruda!" Ruda replied. "Aaaahhhh....!"

His voice turned hypersonic, steadily increasing in volume until it was damaging the sound barrier. Ruda pointed his mouth over Gat's back.

Dozens of explosives erupted out, getting encased within the soundwaves. They glowed in a dimmer color as they traversed the sky. Eventually striking away at Vhul-Adune's arms.

Zeek struggled to walk, only to collapse shortly thereafter. He failed to move away from the pit, leaving him helpless as he fell inside Uvurim.

Ether struggled to heal himself after each cut and bruise, trying to withstand for as long as possible. However, there wasn't much to do by sitting there.

So he backed away, then turned to the sun. Ether recalled a saying his previous owner taught him in order to focus his Will Power.

"With the fury of every eruption, fiery passion of every wind, I smell the never ending inferno while observing its calamity. The solar iris seeks you!" Ether yelled.

On command, the sun split itself. It looked around like an eye, looking for Vhul-Adune. Then a beam of focused solar energy glared down the Goliath.

Ether screamed in triumph as he collected enough heat to transform into his hottest version. Tellendor's mystic silver metal swirled with orange energy.

Another beam of focused heat melted the sand that covered the Goliath. Causing it to become enraged and howl in anger.

It shifted its focus onto offensive strategies. Hoping this would be enough to cut down more attackers.

"Okay, be careful. This will get iffy," Nestres warned.
