Sky Beasts pierced the skies overhead, they danced around friendly Siege Weavers as they approached the battlefield. Flapping wings play a symphony meant to restore hope for all who listened.
Reveria carefully held her bow, the fine wood wrapped in aged pieces of cloth felt like her old partner's hand. She held it tight, not letting go while she watched the carnage underneath.
Unuwkus stormed by, shedding feathers aimed to strike down the backup. Upon hearing the distant rumbling of enemy flyers, Reveria drew her bowstring back. Narrowing an eye in the process.
Then she let go of the arrow. It traveled through the open air, making it through the ever-shifting battlefield. Landing right on the Unuwku's rider's shoulder.
Causing them to reach for the projectile, keeping their eyes off their surroundings. Letting a Voltaic Weaver consume them and their mount.
It cackled in satisfaction as it generated more electrical energy from the attack. Then it dove to closer to the battlefield, following the rest.
Warriors leaned off the sides of their beasts, getting ready to make landfall. They yelled at each other, telling their buddies to take care and be cautious out there.
Like falling raindrops, they leapt off when the ground was not too far from their feet. Reveria did as well. Ferals roared and growled as they followed close behind the rest.
Krim eventually joined, smiling the typical male smile as he fought for his partner and pack. This was the fight they were all looking for, the opportunity to test how they fair alongisde each other against Yarnin foes.
Reveria landed, then instantly drew back her bowstring. The tension felt heavy between her index and middle finger, then she let it go.
Incoming forces began to die one after another. Ferals pounced and defenders blocked their incoming attacks. All while, the few archers that stood back held off on their own.
A Sarorin charged at them from their blind spot. The earth beneath its mighty feet trembled and quaked, throwing archers off balance.
Everyone else felt the incoming beast moments before it began destroying their battalion. Its massive horn caught few in its path, while others got crushed beneath its feet.
The scorched grass choked Reveria, causing her to shoot back onto her feet. She ran back, hoping to not get caught in the Sarorin's path again.
Krim roared as he jumped right on it. Upon landing, the rider tried their best to push them off. Only for Krim to unleash a deafening roar and stun them. He then punched them off.
Despite their master being thrown off, they still felt under control since there was something on their back. Letting Krim scale his way to the creature's neck while it ran around in circles, helplessly trying to attack.
Like an over grown Abako, the Sarorin began to receive less oxygen and its blubber around the neck felt off place. It suddenly realized that Krim was fixing to strangle it.
Causing the beast to enter a frenzy and spin around in hopes of throwing him off. Only to lose balance and fall on its side. Krim hit his head on the ground, stunning him briefly.
Reveria let go of an arrow, it whistled past Krim's face and straight into the exposed neck of the opposing beast. It continued to flail its legs, knowing it would eventually die.
"Let's go," Reveria helped Krim up. "We just need to flank a couple more groups before we reclaim complete control over the shore."
Krim cackled as he directed some of his Ferals to follow. "Well, hopefully the Siege Weavers are smart enough to attack the ships."
Enemy arrows landed around them, causing the duo to run for cover. Reveria ran in unorthodox patterns, completely throwing the panicking Krim off.
"Opposing archers... PREPARE TO CHARGE! GO!" Reveria yelled out instructions.
Infinus forces rallied together as they stormed towards a large cluster of Conqueror warriors. Arrows rained from both sides, digging themselves into armors or skin.
Reveria dodged out of the way of an incoming swordsman, choosing to drive a good kick into the side of another's stomach. Then she spun around to fire an arrow, which penetrated the previous attacker's skull.
She then battered her current attacker with the side of her fist, dazing them long enough to get pounced on by Krim. Armor groaned and shattered as the Feral tore it off before going for a killing hit.
Patrolling Sky Beasts dove to pick warriors off the ground. They flew high, then let go of their temporary passengers. Leaving them to die upon hitting the ground.
As deadmen screamed before getting crushed beneath their own weight, Infinus continued to push deeper. Their own archers fire at the enemy ones. Catching many in the fire.
Krim and his Ferals led the charge, dancing and dodging through the clearing as their raw feet stomped on dead Variants. In unison they pounced on different archers, ripping them to bits.
"We're at the shore!" Krim announced. "Hmm..." he noticed something was off near the water. "Is that? Ferals, run to Volknair and slaughter those Variants. I'll go investigate."
Reveria approached Krim, bow and arrow held in different hands. "This is not the time to collect a shiny new toy, Krim."
"That's why I'm going to retrieve one of Ether's kids," Krim snapped back. He pointed at the shore where Orako rested, badly damaged and defeated. "We need to bring him to safety."
Upon seeing the horribly mangled body, Reveria cringed and looked away. She couldn't stand to look at it for much longer, it nearly reminding her of Ukaley in her final moments.
Yet a sense of protection and care took over. She felt like this was the time to save someone else in honor of Ukaley.
Krim ran down the hill, passing beneath cannon balls and Unuwku feathers. Reveria chased after him, her armor nearly pinning her in place as she first began to move.
"Ukaley, I'll honor you one last time. I promise to bring that Feral back to his father. Just as I wished someone promised to bring you back to me," Reveria mumbled.
