Hedix stepped onto the ruins of Gale's Town. The smell of burning wood and charring flesh fogged his lungs, making it difficult to breathe. But he didn't show this, he wasn't even aware of how difficult it was.
All that was on his mind at the moment was utter rage towards Yarno. Just like Jakery, he felt lied to. Their rampage across Yarno was only a small way of showing his hatred.
Variants screamed, they ran towards him. Carrying young troops and cubs on their backs and shoulders in an attempt to escape.
Not too far behind, two invaders charged after them. They each wielded short-swords, which were tainted in a rusty red from all the slaughtering they've done.
However, they were battered already. Instantly letting Hedix know he had to go straight for a kill.
When the fleeing Variants ran by, he stood his ground. Eyes narrowed and fists closed. Upon getting closer, the first Zegus tried to swipe at his neck.
In response, Hedix lifted his right hand and reflected the attack. Allowing him to grab onto their jaw and pull them downwards, effectively ducking beneath the other Zegus' swipe.
Hedix struck their ribs with a clean elbow, staggering them for a brief moment. While they recovered, he grabbed the first Zegus' knee and pulled it. Sending them to the ground.
When the second Zegus turned to attack again, Hedix ducked their next attack. Then he turned around and threw them onto their ally.
Their short-sword rung with a soft clank as it dropped to the grassy floor. Hedix brought his foot down onto the bottom Zegus' head, cracking their skull and sending shards of it into their brain.
Before the one on top could struggle back onto their feet, he picked up the sword and drove it into their crown. Piercing the brain and killing them instantly.
A bright flash of blue light lit up the skies, followed by an ear-piercing thunderclap. Hedix turned his attention overhead, where Jakery summoned four Voltaic Weavers.
Despite being brought there to aid them, he was unaware of that. Leading to Hedix assuming this was an all-out conflict. One that could mean losing portion of Imbushko to their enemies.
He stepped through the rubble, helping who he could and pointing them to safety. Infinus forces arrived as they fled, quickly getting to work in taking control of their town.
Canon balls leveled the ruins, even striking some of their own warriors. A display Hedix mocked. He charged at a solo Feral, who growled at him.
Rows of freshly sharpened teeth threatened the hardened warfighter, except he felt no fear. All this was to him was a joke, he didn't take the Feral's empty threats seriously.
So she tried to pounce on him. Before she could reach Hedix, he fell onto his back and waited for her arrival. When she did, he grabbed onto her shoulder and used his legs to throw her off.
The sudden defense caught her by surprise as she quickly shot back onto her feet. Only to get greeted with a burning piece of wood to her face.
Hedix threw it on the ground, then prepared to slowly but brutally wear her out. Then a canon ball struck, sending them both tumbling into debris.
Despite being the least steady of the two, the Feral was the first one up. She pounced onto Hedix's back and dug her claws into his shoulders.
When she came down for a swift bite onto the back of her neck, Hedix used his hands to pin her against his shoulder. Effectively strangling her.
While she resisted, her jaws unlocked then took a bite. The unmistakable red color flowed out of his open bite wounds around his neck, tainting his unnaturally ashy skin.
Although he was bleeding a lot, Hedix didn't feel a thing. But he could still sense her struggling agaisnt him, so he pulled her onto the space in front of him. Allowing Hedix to get a better grip on the situation.
She growled as she tried to get back up again, only to fail as Hedix pulled her knees forward. Causing her to fall on her back and Hedix to get into a dominant position.
He then began unloading serious punches and elbows to her face. Shattering her nose and teeth, before forcing her to extract her claws and jamming them into her own throat.
Leaving the formal Feral in a bloody pile, one too red for anybody to recognize. Hedix grunted, showing his distaste for such a pitiful being. Until he noticed he was too weak to stand.
Causing him to fall on his knees, unsure of what was happening. After all these years with all of his emotions turned off, Hedix forgot these things could occur from injuries.
More specifically, blood loss. He struggled against his quickly weakening body, desperately trying to find the source.
A distant cannon ball demolishing what little there was of Gale's Town was the last sound Hedix heard before giving up. His strength was gone and lungs were incapable of getting enough oxygen.
Marking an end to a fabled warrior, and making Decka the last remaining former Light Legion elite to have Sun Set during their war.
By now, more elites had arrived. Sky Beasts pierced the skies, attacking the ships and battering them from all around. Jakery's Weavers rained from above, sinking entire vessels while instantly killing whatever was in the water with them.
While they continued to fight, Ether watched the spectacle with a heavy frown on his face. He carried Hylo in his arms, she wanted to come with him.
Together, they stumbled closer to Gale's Town. Small fragments of a larger city wrestled against each other as he kicked them, looking almost phantasmal.
Hylo looked at all the burning structures, the bodies, and the enraged Infinus warriors. She even got to see her mother hardening her and her allies' armors in order to endure more than what they should've.
As they walked deeper, they found six surrendered Trilogy warriors. Their weapons tossed aside as heavily armored Infinus warriors surrounded them, weapons pointed towards their throats.
One of them looked up at Ether, uncertainty in their eyes. So he placed Hylo on the ground, then approached the warrior.
