Infinus fell to its knees. Homes invaded, then burnt down. Variants tried their best to flee but found no success. Everything was crumbling down.
Sky Beasts panicked, taking flight without riders. Cemtrin enraged, killing everything around them. All while Weavers were dormant. Completely unfazed by the war outside.
Jakery danced through the skies. Slamming powerful bolts onto the groups of many warriors. Hoping to make it easier for his Legion to defend.
On the ground, Ether and Pearl fought alongside each other. They danced together, blades moved as one. Like a couple destined to become one, they kept the other safe from harm.
Attackers dropped to their knees, ready for their execution. When Pearl brought down her weapon, heads witnessed their fall from their shoulders. Meanwhile, Ether furiously butchered his victims.
Limbs flew all over the place. Tellendor's seething stab wasn't enough. To ensure Ether's hunger was fulfilled, Tellendor turned everyone they crossed into a bloody mess.
Until a distant figure crossed his arms. His wild yellow eyes examined his fighting, picking apart every flaw there was to the defending Zesher.
Warriors parted, allowing their leader to walk through. Blunt axe in hand, he displayed his dominance with his closed fists. Power. It was what he was known for.
Defenders rushed to halt the advance of a dominant leader. In response, he yanked one's shield before beating that same defender to death with it.
Before the next defender could even reach him, the leader dug his blunt axe into their helmet. Dazing them. To continue, he grabbed the defender's neck before effortlessly ripping off their head.
Vicious red painted his gold and white armor. The blood continued to erupt like a volcano. Coloring everything nearby in the same taint.
Unexplainable anger took over Jakery's emotions. Bolts of passionate fury rained from the skies above. Each one striking the leader head on.
Dust kicked up from the sheer power of each blast. Once they settled, the leader just looked up. Eyes narrowed.
"You must be the shadow of your sibling. 'Undying Revenge?' Well, I'm here to ensure it ends for good," Kas announced. "Now come down here. I haven't shattered your skull enough."
Jakery listened. He descended from the skies, landing in a giant electrical discharge. The young Zesher stepped forward, closer to the tyrant.
"First take my brother, then my innocence, then my people. Now you want to claim my life?" Jakery spat in his direction. "My silent struggles against myself are your cause. As repayment, I want to claw your heart out."
Pearl stormed to his aid. She directed her weapon towards Kas. Metal reflecting the burning fire of conflict. A spark of rage lit up in her eyes, igniting her own reasons.
Kas smirked. "Your skull shattered without me trying... as for you, I would recommend putting your weapon down before I kill you on the spot."
To this, neither took kindly. Cackling blue lightning engulfed Jakery's frail frame, charging him enough to blast through the open air. Defenders and attackers covered their sight.
With a flash of unrelenting lightning, Jakery stumbled back. Electricity still surged through the stale air. Mindlessly pulsing through, the area of impact.
Each pulse pierced bodies. Burning the insides of everyone caught inside. Except for Kas. He remained the same. Perhaps even madder.
As a follow up, Pearl leapt up over him. Before bringing down her weapon, blade pointed down to his head. With a sharp ding, she realized her mistake.
Kas was still aware of what was happening. Giving him no trouble to react with a counter fitting with the situation. He reached for Pearl's wrist, which he effortlessly used as a means of throwing her down.
Jakery tried tackling him while he was busy, only to be picked up and slammed on the ground. Dirt parted as the young one felt his entire body get crushed by the weight of that reality.
Pearl struck Kas' stomach while he wasn't looking, following it up with another strike to his cheek. Which prompting his response of grappling onto her chest, then slamming his forehead onto her own.
She felt the sudden blow. Dazed, she stumbled back. Kas quickly grabbed both arms, then planted one foot on her chest. Preparing her for her own execution.
"STOP!" Ether demanded.
Pleased to hear that voice, Kas listened. "Finally came out of hiding? Ah, I see. This is your little partner and you want to protect her, eh?"
Ether tossed Tellendor to Kas' feet. "I am all yours, but you must call off this siege."
Kas lifted an eyebrow. "This was surprisingly easy, don't you think?"
As the duo were talking, Jakery tried to go in for another attack. Lightning cackled, engulfing his frame once again. Just as he was about to reach Kas, he flicked the attacker off.
"Playing tricks. I saw this coming. Tell me, Ether, how well does the Coros lineage handle loss?" Kas' raspy voice spoke with clear excitement.
"NO! D - don't do it, leave her alone!" Ether screamed.
Pearl pulled her limbs back, trying to free herself. "Don't go with him. He will torture you and kill you off like an animal. Let me take my defeat quick and clean here."
Kas smirked. "Little girl likes you, now what's your final response?"
Ether took off his helmet. "Let her go, let my people go, and I will happily go with you." Sincerity decorated his soft words.
After a brief moment of consideration, Kas let go. Pearl fell back onto the blood-painted earth below. Eyes staring out into the world above her in disbelief.
"Today," Kas' voice thundered. "We are victorious over our enemy. Return to our beasts and take flight. We've got what we wanted!"
Before the deal continued further, Ether swiftly made his way over to the downed Pearl and Jakery. The two sat in silence, questioning why he came to such a decision.
Jakery looked frightened to his very core. Skin as pale as snow, eyes drained of all life, and body stiff. It was the ideal nightmare for him.
Losing his last brother. Guilt washed over him like a cursed cloth, tainting his mind in all sorts of harsh unspoken words. He hated himself for not being strong enough to defend Ether.
Just like a defeated warrior, it was all his fault. Not realizing good outcomes happen only when the situations were right. They didn't appear for those that didn't deserve it.
Ether first hugged Jakery tight. "Little man," his voice crumbled. "This is your Legion now. Take good care of it, please. Be the boulder that cements our name into our family's legacy."
Tears flowed out of Jakery's eyes, wetting his pale cheeks. "N - no, don't. W - wait, let him take m - me instead."
"No, Jakery, no. I started this war, you had to deal with my mistakes for so long. Sometimes it even felt like I lost you forever. Now it's time for you to continue forward," Ether struggled to say.
Jakery hugged Ether one more time, feeling the motherly warmth in his embrace. "I - I love y - you... S - Shora..."
"I love you too, Shojoro," Ether concluded.
As his older sibling changed his focus to his partner, Jakery felt a pain in his stomach. His world was crumbling down even worse than ever before. Reality took its grim turn for him.
In his new world, Jakery was alone. No one spoke to him, aside from Ether. To everyone, he was a mirror of his older brother. Now with him gone, Jakery felt lost. A piece of cloth in the wind.
Pearl didn't wait for her partner to get any closer, she instantly sprung out and hugged him tight. She held him in her arms like she meant it. Tears rolled down her cheeks as well. Staining her pale skin.
She couldn't mutter words. Only sounds. Each one she made sounded like she tried her hardest to swallow her emotions and speak to her lover one last time.
"It's okay," Ether said in a warm voice. "Everything is going to be fine. Just keep one thing in mind. I loooooveeee youuuuuu!" Ether's Yonie voice said.
Before he got up, he gave her a gentle peck on her forehead. Leaving Pearl with the warm touch of his lips as the last contact she made with Ether.
Once he was back up, he realized Kas was looming right over him. Ether examined his crossed arms and threatening facial expressions. It was the look of his killer.
"This is it, the end of your journey. Our Sky Beast is right over there," Kas tilted his head away from the group. "Ready for your final ride?"
Ether glanced back to his sibling and lover. "Yeah - yeah, I am. Let's go, I am ready for whatever comes next."
