Thawed beast-masters carried heavy crates full of explosives. Each crate roughly scraped against the ground, making a harsh noise that helped unsettle the already tensed warriors.
Once put in place, each Cemtrin reached down to the nearest crate. Picking up an explosive inside their thick hands. Frozen metal stood coldly in their palms, yet they were unfazed.
Gentle rumbles and growls filled their ears as they waited for their masters' commands. Just as they readied themselves to hurl blasts, some Thawed climbed on their backs.
Each one guided their gaze to where each blast should go. The rest the Cemtrin did. All the thought process, swing, and even the timing.
While they were being directed, archers stood in front of them. Each one took an arrow's tail and pressed it against the string, gently pulling back to ensure their weapons were ready.
The archers slowly lifted their bows up to their face. One eye focused in the middle of a circle with markings on the bow itself to keep track of their range.
One by one, they stabilized their breaths and heartbeats. Making sure not to let them get in the way of a clean shot.
Defenders dragged their shields in the snow. Before planting them right in front of them. Snow crunched as the shields dug into it. Each Defender tilted their shield to cover them better.
Marked with the pride of the Infinus logo on the front, each warrior and beast prepared to set the mountain ablaze. With every launched arrow, blocked projectile, and explosion.
Hizentre stood behind some defenders. His body stood out like a diamond in the snow. Chains wrapped over his shoulders to show his true intentions.
Being the loyal Thawed he was, being disrespected by a bigger Legion didn't land right with him. So he craved violence.
Valentine used a small knife to slice a clean cut on his wrist. Blood oozed out with every passing second. With every ounce of blood he lost, he generated two ounces more.
Crimson crystals appeared on his shoulders, arms, hips, legs, head, and face. Painting him like a demon pulled from the deepest corners of hell.
Hazen sat inside a home. Back pressed against the freezing wood as she saw the world through the eyes of Ether and the Weavers. Waiting for the signal to attack.
She grinned, glad to have control over the battlefield once again. Ether's eyes shifted down to his chest piece, one hand reached up to ensure everything was ready.
They turned their heads to the right and left, checking if everyone was ready for combat. Ether lifted Tellendor, her eyes watched it. And heard him scream one word:
"FIRE!"
Digon trembled. Its guardian looked down, through the infinitely grey clouds, and onto its liberators. Mimicking the mouth movements with its beak.
Arrows flew into the sky. They pierced areas no Legion was mighty enough to conquer for anytime longer than seconds on end. Tipping at the very top of their arch before heading back down.
Each one struck something. Some arrows struck homes, others bothered beasts, while a few amount struck a target. Their tips penetrated deep into their victims, damaging them.
Thawed ignited the explosives. Giving the Cemtrin their cue to throw.
Explosions traveled a much less impressive journey. They spun and mindlessly flew across the gap. Before landing on specific locations, they exploded.
Rocking the buildings inside while shocking every warrior. Notifying them a Legion has come to claim their home.
In response, the elite that controlled the stronghold, Struto, ordered archers to get up on the walls and start firing back.
After the next volley of Infinus arrows, the Light Legion struck back. Their own arrows rained from above.
"Hold down those shields!" Hizentre ordered.
Metallic tings and pings rung as the arrows clashed with the shields. Merely distracting the Infinus Legion's might. Before their own volley threw back.
With this one came the presence of Weavers.
Hazen manipulated each Weaver to raise from the depths. Flame lit bodies and surging blue pulses traveled through the skies in a blinding pace.
They spun and twirled as they paraded the skies above with their unmatched beauty and power. Embers and sparks rained from above, catching the attention of the Infinus warriors for a brief moment.
Struto stood beside his archers. Eyes examining the impending Weavers. But there was no fear behind them, only courage.
Electrical surges and roaring flames shook Digon to its very core. All while Struto watched without a care.
"Open the gates and bring out the warriors," Struto barked orders to his men. "I'll handle these Weavers."
Once the sun cast their shadows over Frosticus' walls, Struto felt his heartbeat increase as his chest began to glow. A cyan beam of light erupted into the skies to greet the Weavers.
It traveled until it reached the same height before exploding. There was no shock wave, no sound, not even any visuals of it happening. But what remained were several dying Weavers.
And Hazen's connection to them and the rest of the Legion severed. She could no longer interact with them through their minds. The world she saw was her own.
While she stared into her bewildered palms, Ether cried out instructions.
"Warriors! Hizentre and Suth, strike them down. Valentine, paint Digon red!" Ether ordered.
Hearing instructions for the first time was enough for them. Hizentre and Suth charged their groups up the mountain to meet them.
Light Legion arrows rained from above, hoping to strike any of the incoming forces. They loomed overhead like vicious clouds raining destruction, until piercing through armor and skin.
Crimson crystals formed on Valentine's arm. He couldn't feel the cold blood pouring out of his body. Everything was numb.
He crushed nothingness in his hands as the crystals shattered. They shot above into the skies before stopping. Each crystal found a partner and combined with them.
As more crystals came together, they formed a bigger spiked ball. Mimicking Hizentre's flail in appearance. Before suddenly falling from the sky.
Suth spun right as she came into swinging distance of a warrior. She dug the blade of the axe into the shoulder of a warrior, then she kicked them off.
Another's spear came down on her, but she caught it with the main body of her axe. Her first instinct was to flick the spear. The warrior tried their best to recover their weapon and go in for a second strike.
But Suth was quick and drove her weapon into their throat. Their body became lifeless as she pushed the corpse against one of their allies.
Hizentre allowed his Third Rule to break the bones of everyone before him. The action-looped flail effortlessly cracked through their armors and swiftly ended lives.
Realizing the blood sphere was getting too close, Valentine manipulated the attack to only effect Light Legion warriors. There was no time for reactions between the furious fighting.
When the attack was just about to hit, the same cyan glow appeared and caused it to vanish. Valentine looked on, shocked at what just happened.
He tried looking for a cause inside the battling. But instead he caught Suth effortlessly slaughtering her attackers.
She caught one's sword on the body of her axe, it slid down allowing her to strike the warrior's face with the bottom of the weapon. Stunning them for just enough time to let her pull the back of their knees closer.
The warrior collapsed to the ground, unaware of what was happening. Before getting a sharp axe tip through the helmet and into the skull.
Realizing nothing seemed off, Valentine tried again. This time, he stomped on the ground. Crystals formed on his leg as they went down it.
Each crystal dug into the ground and traveled up the mountainside to claim lives and blood to use as resources. But before they could harm or take, the same cyan glow appeared.
Ceasing the attack before it could even have a chance to spring out and harm anybody. This time, he was left in awe. Valentine turned to look at the walls for any answer, only to lock eyes with an elite.
Struto crossed his arms, helmet covered his face, while the golden shoulders of his armor proudly stood over his stronghold.
"Ether, I believe that elite might be able to nullify our abilities..." Valentine informed.
"A Third Rule that contradicts all others?? Interesting. What are the odds of that?" Ether asked out of curiosity.
Valentine turned to fix his eyes on his leader. "I don't believe this has anything to do with Third Rules. If anything, this would mean that elite has earned the right to survive without interference."
Pearl eagerly watched the fighting. Her eyes admired Suth's ruthlessness and agility. She watched her glide on her feet while going from warrior to warrior, leaving none alive.
All While Hizentre took apart large portions of warriors with ease. No muscles moved, no weapons lifted, it was all resumed action. Responded echoes from days ago while he was preparing.
"I want to go up there and fight!" Pearl thought to herself, before turning her attention to Ether. "But... I don't want to leave him alone if I fall..."
Struto chuckled, he looked over his shoulder to see how his warriors were progressing. He noticed several Yinmars, Cemtrin, and Sky Beasts were ready to take off.
He turned around, pointing his thumb up to the world above. Silently ordering his warriors to take flight. Mountain Ascent Sky Beasts flew over the stronghold.
Yinmars and Cemtrin patiently waited for their turn to start their rampage. What the Infinus Legion didn't know was they were playing directly to Struto's plan.
A plan designed to punish those that were bloodthirsty. Which described Infinus perfectly.
