Chapter 104 - Encur Bow

-The next day-

Quill tackled Decka as he prepared to wrestle him down. The legs of the Zegus went under Quill's arm and between them and his knees.

Allowing the challenger to force Decka to the ground, and quickly twist his entire body. Now facing towards the ground, Decka felt the increasing pressure as Quill began crushing his spine and tugging his legs.

But before any major accident happened, he stopped.

Decka's legs fall to the ground as Quill got off him and helped his training partner up. The two shared surprised looks with one another.

"Now you know what to expect from Verick. Code wise at least. He is a skilled warrior, and that's a fact. So expect a lot more from him, just know his mace will break you," Decka said while breathing heavily.

A faint blue glow ran through Quill's veins. It was his coolers working on bringing his temperature down.

Risk approached the duo with two Ferals by his side. "They aren't here today. Although, another Legion seeks Ether."

Quill rubbed his hands together, making sure he didn't have the potential to generate warmth. "To harm or talk to?"

After seconds of trying, he gave up. His body temperature was at the perfect amount for him. He instantly felt his coolers begin absorbing all the cold air around.

Risk noticed the strange Thawed. The first time he has seen this one was yesterday when they were all rallied up. He wasn't there during sieges or confrontations with other Legions.

"Who are you?" His smug voice asked.

"I am one of the first elites inside this Legion, Risk," Quill adjusted his stance to seem bigger. "I know of you because of your praise after joining us and setting an example for the rest of the Light Legion's men."

"Then where were you during all of those events?" Risk replied.

Quill closed his honest gaze. "Because someone had to ensure Sky Beasts, Cemtrin, and Weavers are being looked after properly."

"I suppose you're right. And you're also the champion?" Risk continued to ask questions.

"Correct," Quill agreed.

The two stared at one another. Sizing the other up to see which one was more dominant inside the Legion.

After realizing he was dwarfed, Risk took two steps back. His two Feral companions glanced at one another, then back at the foreign face.

"To answer your question, Quill, they wanted to talk to him. It was a Yonie being followed by two Zegi," Risk replied.

Quill's eyebrow shot up. "Pardon? A Yonie followed by two Zegus?"

"Yes, that's what I said," Risk confidently replied.

"But... why would a Yonie be without a Yomie -"

"Let alone being followed by two Zegi" Decka finished Quill's sentenced.

Risk silently nodded. His companions quickly followed after him. All three of their heads moved up and down in unison, without a single word being uttered.

"Why?" Quill asked again.

"We don't know!" Risk began chuckling.

His Ferals began cackling as well. But to everyone else, it didn't phase them. Decka and Quill remained with the same amount of confusion as before.

-Volknair, same day-

The heavy gates swung open, allowing several guards and a single Quill through. They surrounded the trio of unknown Variants.

Shields planted themselves between them and the guards while spears pointed directly towards them took aim at a vital organ. If they tried anything off, death would follow.

Quill walked through to greet them. When he got there, he realized something strange about that Yonie. Instead of being on the ground like everyone else, he was floating.

The Yonie opened his eyes with a smile. Then he turned to look at something else and whispered some words in Icitru before being lowered to the ground.

"Hi! Hi! Hi!" His playful voice rung out. "Ooooh! Big strong warriors with pikes pointed at us! Scary, Koroth is scary!"

The Zegi kept their gazes on the Yonie, completely ignoring the situation around them. Which was odd. Their natural instincts force them to be aware of what was around them at all times.

Except for this one time. With spear heads and foreign warriors all waiting to tear into them, it would be difficult for one to keep their eyes off their attackers.

"Uh... who... are you?" Quill sounded puzzled like never before.

Seeing this display was odd. Too odd for anyone to assume was disciplined into a Variant. It is impossible to rewire one to think or act like this.

The Yonie opened his arms to gesture a hug. "Please, sir, please let us in your Legion!" His gentle voice asked.

But Quill was unwavering, especially when it came down to enforcing the Legion's might. Hearing the Yonie's cutesy voice slightly annoyed him.

"A random splash of green and orange on your armor plates. I am assuming you three are Encur?" His voice rumbled like thunder.

The Yonie grabbed the sides of his hood, then stretched them over his face. The orange sides came together to join two green symbols.

It was a single word written in Icitru. Something no one other than that Yonie in that group could decipher.

"Yes, sir. But can we pleeeeeeeeeaseeeee enter your glorious Legion?" He begged.

"First, what's your name?" Quill shot back.

Almost on sync, a Zegus darted his gaze towards Quill. His helmet's green Sky Beast feathers trailed behind it as he turned to look.

"His name is Silsa, but you may call him Silssy," his voice echoed.

"Thank you, Tinnie," Silsa said with a bright smile. "I am leadeeeer! One and only! Cutest Yonie! Strongest too! And bestest thinker!"

Quill blankly stared at the duo. "Uh... and why are you here?"

Silsa looked shocked for a moment. He looked around him to see he was trapped between several Variants waiting for the interaction to be over.

Then the Yonie jumped in horror. A clear shiver ran down his spine as his skin color drained into a paler version.

"T - Tinnie," he whispered. "W - why are we here? I forgot. I'm soooorry."

"We are here to merge. The Light Legion tried to claim us several times before but the reason we survived was because of this little Yonie standing right between us," Tinzor clarified.

Quill looked down at Silsa. His eyes curious as to how a Yonie, so small and soft, managed to drive off entire assaults.

"I don't believe he fought them off. Me and my Legion along with my allies struggled and lost to them," he bitterly replied.

"No he didn't fight. He just imagined our city and people somewhere different. And just like that, we found ourselves away from their reach," Tinzor responded.

"So we want to ally with you! We can be heroooooeeees together!!!" Silsa interrupted.

Quill continued to stare at the Yonie. His soft face and delicate smile seemed hopeful for the outcome. But it also triggered a sense deep inside his mind.

It was a father's senses. For some reason, Silsa while frightened resembled an icicle. Which caused him to instantly want to shelter the little one.

"Hmm... follow me. I will bring you to the leader and you two can talk about this alliance. And I'm sure he would love to talk to a fellow Yonie," Quill ended with that special name.

Silsa's eyes instantly became a hotter pink as his smile suddenly erupted. "Yonie - Yonie!! Your leader is a Yonie, I am a Yonie. We can be Yonies!"

His cheeks instantly lit up in a blue-ish color. It was difficult to see them because of the bright sun, but they were clearly there. Blinking lights from his cheeks, almost like a blushing Feral.

A Sky Beast poked its head over the wall. The elegant, white feathers effortlessly moved as its entire body dropped down.

Its four legs splatted on the grass as it carelessly moved the guards aside, then lowered its head. Quill took a step back, that foot planted itself on the top of the head.

The Sky Beast quickly rose it to allow its rider to slide down onto its back. It looked down at the Variants, waiting for the others to show they wanted to climb on.

Silsa pointed up to the big beast. "Tennie and Yonorie, go, fly with the big ice guy! I will fly on my own!"

Strangely enough, the bottom of Silsa's cloak lifted up. Then he sat mid air. Two hands reached to the back of something as he got into position to fly a Sky Beast.

"Wait, is this how I fly one. Right, Tinnie?!" Silsa screamed.

"Uh... they read minds. Just imagine yourself following us and it will follow us. I've ridden many to understand how they work!" Tinzor replied while getting onto Quill's Sky Beast. "Just don't think of it going too fast."

After all the Variants were mounted. Quill looked over his shoulder to look at his two passengers.

"That little one seems like a lot to take care of. Do you bow to him?" He whispered.

"He's a sweet little one. We have to," Tinzor replied.

With that, everyone ascended to the skies. Quickly making their way towards Krugi, where Ether was talking to the Ophus Legion.
