After the horrible night from before, Danitour wanted to get back at Ether. He didn't want the Zesher to have the last blow.
During the first sunrays, Danitour got up early to make his way towards the War Room. This was where he was planning on striking back.
As time passed, more Variants began waking up and making their way to the heart of Krugi, where the War Room sat.
They stopped and listen to what Danitour had to say. Each time an elite stood outside the War Room waiting for something, it meant they wanted to announce something.
"Variants of Krugi!" Danitour spoke. "As you know, the Infinus Legion has intensions of warring against the Light Legion. But do you know why?"
A larger crowd formed around, yet no one answered. They were clueless about the motivation behind the sieges and attacks.
"Well, those of you who are grieving the deaths of those you love... just know they died because of a personal issue between our 'leaders' and the Light Legion's leaders," Danitour answered.
Valentine walked down the street towards the Armory until the crowd caught their attention. He walked closer to find out what was happening.
When Valentine saw who it was, he knew it was about the fight they had the night before. So he darted to the Coros' home to look for Ether.
"To the Thawed and Zegus of the city. Welcome to Krugi, a place with a tragic backstory... notice how I didn't specify Ferals!" Danitour prepared to tell everyone about the attack again.
By the time Valentine came back with the two brothers, Danitour finished the story. But they were fortunate enough to hear the last few sentences of Danitour's sudden meeting.
"...Now you know why I dislike Ferals. Now you know how much I care for you all. Except for Ether! That man is looking to kill his own people just for his gain!" he finished.
The same switch from the night before turned again. Ether's mind overflew with emotions, but this time he wasn't crying tears of any kind. This time, he felt like it was personal.
He quickly broke through the crowd, avoiding whoever was in front of him until he reached the War Room's stairs. Ether took a deep breath and walked the five steps to reach Danitour.
"If you care so much about them, then why do you refuse to see Ferals in any other way?!" Ether challenged Danitour's image.
"What is a Feral other than beasts made for slaughtering everyone else?" Danitour responded.
Two familiar faces made their way towards the front of the crowd. These two were Kellenas and Risk, the two Alpha Male Ferals.
"We'll tell you what we are!" Kellenas blurted out. "We are caretakers, hunters, protectors, loyal, sons, daughters, fathers, and mothers. How many of these things do Zegus and Thawed have as well?"
Risk broke out into laughter. "It appears you have a problem with Ferals, huh?" he began laughing hysterically. "Well, my boys and girls are not taking this too kindly."
"Enough!" Ether interrupted. "Danitour, how about you tell 'your' people how you made me feel? Tell them, tell them about what happened last night. Do it, Danitour, or are you scared?"
Danitour remained silent, he kept his gaze at Risk while he continued to laugh at him. Seeing a Feral laugh uncontrollably at him looked like a sign of disrespect.
And it was so. Risk wanted Danitour to feel like his opinions of Ferals were a joke. Deep down, Risk wanted Danitour to snap and challenge him to a fight. Just so he could represent the Murmosa and Eterra packs.
"You don't want to say it?" Ether continued to pressure Danitour. "Okay. I will do it then."
Ether got closer to the crowd, each step he took he could feel his throat getting tighter and tighter. Until they felt like a knot.
"When I made this Legion, I wanted to stand against those who wanted to kill for no reason at all. Killing to survive is different than killing to kill. In one you have a reason, the other you just felt like it," his voice became raspy.
Risk ceased his laughter, he wanted to hear what Ether was going to say.
"My motivation behind the name came from two words: Infin and Us, meaning Mighty and Few. Those who stand with us are mighty enough to realize they could be so much more. There are few Variants who realize their impact, and our numbers at the time were few," Ether explained.
While Ether talked, Ferals from both packs emerged from the crowd. Some heard Danitour's story about them, and they had the urge to bring their allies to see who it was that talked about them in a bad way.
"This Legion is for everyone, Danitour. And for you to try to deny it and ruin my image is an insult, one I won't take too kindly. How about I return the favor?" he smiled.
Danitour turned to look at Ether with eyes of contempt. He wanted to strike Ether down for good right then and there, but he couldn't. Danitour didn't bring a weapon with him.
"The Zegus that stands next to me is nothing more than a failure. I tried to help him see Ferals as the cousins of the Zegus Variant. But he turns around and insults my hardships. The Light Legion killed my younger self and my younger brother!"
All eyes shifted to Danitour, who was still looking at Ether. Malice took the shape of his eyes while he watched Ether fight back.
"So tell me, will you follow a leader who wants to overthrow tyrants? Or a leader who denies growth and prefers to live out his depressing past?" Ether finished.
Risk ran forward, then leapt. He jumped up to where Ether and Danitour stood. When Danitour saw the sudden visitor, his mind wanted him dead. But he forced himself to stay calm.
"Here's a little gambit you can take: I challenge you to fight me. If you win, my Murmosa pack will happily leave... if I win, you'll leave and we'll happily celebrate. Is that good?"
'Happily celebrate.' Two words lingered inside Danitour's enraged mind. He wanted to get revenge on a Feral for the dead Thresher couple.
"I accept, but if I win I also claim leadership of Krugi..." Danitour responded.
Just as Ether opened his mouth to deny the request, Risk interrupted. "Deal!"
The two walked towards the wooden city gates, ready to pound each other into submission. Risk wanted to fight because he felt attacked.
Meanwhile, Danitour wanted to fight because he hated Risk. But he caught Ether in the middle of it all by accepting a much more dangerous deal. One that could change Krugi's leadership forever.
