Infinus claimed the next city, they were almost halfway of completing their assault against the Light Legion. But the next town was well fortified, waiting for Infinus' arrival.
Jakery and the army observed their Sky Beasts and Siege Weavers retreat to safety. All the arrows, Sky Beasts, Cemtras, and Siege Weavers of their own was too much for them to handle.
While he looked around for any weaknesses against the defenses, Jakery noticed this wasn't an actual town. This was an outpost, one that was crucial for the Light Legion.
This outpost was an outpost made to ward off dangers in the long distance walk between the previous city and the next. Instead of ending on the grass, this outpost extended to the sand.
"You know, if we claim this you Third Rule wielders could get more Siege Weavers. Voltaic Weavers are very common during storms around here, you should come out with at least 3 per storm," Decka commented.
When Jakery asked Decka and Risk if they would like to retreat to Volknair, they refused. They wouldn't say why they didn't want to, but Jakery didn't deny them. They could confuse their targets.
"Yeah, but how can we claim this outpost?" he responded to Decka's comment.
Decka calmly pointed at the water. "If they are armed on the front and back, try the sides."
Jakery smiled then turned to his warriors. He looked for anyone that could try to attack from the sides. He noticed he didn't have many options in terms of elites.
Valentine and Hazen stayed back with a small group to protect them. Hizentre, Kellenas, and Quill were too busy fighting off the Light Legion behind them.
The only ones left were him and Suth, which meant she would have to give up her control over the second part of the army if she went.
"You seem to be lost... perhaps send some of your newest members?" Risk smirked.
Jakery examined Risk and his willing Ferals who stood behind him. "Are you sure? They would probably be relentless when attacking you since you betrayed them."
"Would they? Or would they be confused about why a Feral pack is coming out of the water?" he confidently responded.
Instead of debating with Risk, Jakery allowed him to take his Ferals into the water. They started their swim to reach the outpost. But that didn't take long, because Ferals were designed to do it all.
"Alright this is what we're going to do: full force, do not let them rest. We will continue fighting until we see that pack emerge alive," Jakery ordered.
So they waited.
-Risk's perspective-
Risk's pack took off down to the shoreline, they wanted to swim far away from land so the Light Legion wouldn't notice them right away.
They swam quickly, despite the waves carrying them towards land. Each Feral tried their best to keep their distance away from the land.
Then they found an opening. Jakery called for his aerial combatants to fight with all their might against the outpost, distracting them.
Risk began swimming towards the shore, his pack followed him. No one paid attention to the incoming pack.
Allowing them all to nonchalantly enter through the wide open outpost. Vicious fighting and mighty beasts stormed the skies above, while arrows punished the outpost for fighting back.
"Risk, didn't know Dire sent you out here. There's some unknown Legion who has been rampaging their way through a city and a town. If you perform a Wild Hunt you could end it all right here," a warrior suggested.
"A... Wild Hunt..?" Risk muttered. "I would, but my wee little poppers can't work. Perhaps you got some?"
The warrior foolishly agreed and led the pack over to a box of small explosives sitting next to two larger boxes full with bigger explosives that the Cemtras would use.
"Take as many as you'd like. These are meant for us anyway," the warrior chuckled.
Risk swapped explosives, making sure these new ones were usable and dry while he did it. After taking ten and fastening them around his belt, he turned his gaze to his 'enemies.'
In unison, Risk and his pack unleashed an ear-piercing roar. Stunning even the Cemtras inside the outpost. Before they could recover, the pack began their Wild Hunt.
Males jumped on the Cemtras, their punches and stomping stunned the beasts. Meanwhile the females used their claws to rip the warriors to shreds.
Risk noticed some Light Legion Sky Beasts were close to the ground, if he could find a way to jump up to them he could turn the tide.
"DAK STRUK YOKO!! (ENEMY SKY BEASTS!!)" one Feral called out.
Risk turned to look at the Feral who mentioned it, and realized the Cemtras was flailing its arms around. A perfect opportunity to get launched by it.
He waited for its hands to open up near the ground, then he jumped inside. The Cemtras instinctively threw the object in its hand.
Next thing Risk knew, he was sky high. He looked around for a random Sky Beast. An incoming Light Legion warrior came over to help the soaring Feral, but when he brought Risk on his beast, Risk thanked him with a shove off the side.
Now he was in control of the Sky Beast. Risk flew off towards another Sky Beast, he made the rider tail him. Then Risk threw an explosive at him, stunning his Sky Beast.
Unluckily, the beast couldn't fly. He turned his attention to another target. That's when he saw a mighty Voltaic Weaver.
His heart began beating faster, ideas flooded his mind like a tidal wave, and he randomly selected one of the many.
If he tried touching the Voltaic Weaver, he could get electrocuted to death. But the Sky Beast he was on was a Storm Chaser Sky Beast. They were highly resistant to high volts.
Risk turned his Sky Beast around, the winds of combat rushed over his messy hair. As he got closer to the head of the Weaver, he noticed just how large its tough chitin beak was.
But that didn't deter him. Risk flew his Sky Beast over the Weaver's head, then made the beast strike the back of the Weaver's head. It roared with anger and looked upwards.
It was exactly what Risk wanted. He grabbed one of his explosives, then threw it into the Weaver's mouth. It exploded, stunning the Weaver for a split second.
But it shifted its full attention to its attackers. The Weaver used its body to surround Risk, hoping it could capture him inside. But the Feral refused to let itself be captured.
He dove below its path, narrowly avoiding its powered body. Risk laughed over the passing winds, before ramming his Sky Beast against the Voltaic Weaver.
It screeched, the sound was like a thunderclap going off. The Weaver turned his giant head towards the Sky Beast, opening its beak in preparation for the attack.
But once again, Risk threw another explosive inside. But this time, the explosive traveled deeper into its mouth. Making its way into the throat before detonating.
The Weaver howled in defeat before the wind swept the corpse away like sand. Risk manically laughed at his accomplishment, then he looked down at the battle below.
Infinus pushed up and broke past the line of scattered Light Legion warriors, effectively ending this battle. Their eyes were set to their second to last target.
