Chapter 66 - Mistress of Harmony

Kas and Alise stood on the top of the arena's stairs, their chosen stood around them. Kas brought his bravest and strongest combatants, while Alise brought her most loyal.

They watched the group who defeated the Frosticus Legion parade around the arena. Light Legion flags waved proudly, and warriors made their triumphant voices heard.

But they were also celebrating the death of the oldest Coros member, Ether Coros. They were sure he was dead for good this time, so they celebrated one of their biggest threats being taken out.

Imbushko was becoming a much safer region to freely roam around. Now only a few smaller Legions remained, and those not inside Legions were either recruited or allowed to stay free under certain conditions.

Those who weren't part of Frosticus Fall stood on the sides, watching the parade take place. They ate all sorts of foods, and drank all sorts of drinks. Everything was like a dream to them.

It was too unreal, the Light Legion was advancing towards their goal of making this continent free from the chaos of survival.

While they celebrated and cheered, a lingering thought clouded Kas and Alise. The burning question of what they will do to kill the two younger Coros brothers.

"What do you think Frosticus Fall and Ether's defeat mean to his two younger brothers?" Alise asked Kas.

He stood to her left, a large heavy sword rested on the ground in front of him. The tip of the sheath pointed down, allowing Kas to rest his arms on the hand-guards.

"It could mean two things. Knowing how insane the Coros family has become, it wouldn't be too much of a reach to assume they are planning to take us all on as a duo," Kas explained.

Alise looked to her right, meeting the eyes of one of her loyal followers. He smiled at her, showing his full support and trust in Alise.

Then she looked at Kas. "Given their nature, they seem a lot less focused on fighting and more focused on each other. Nothing could have separated them from one another."

"Exactly. Their oldest was the only one who could fight properly, the younger two were more like a risk taker and a sister. Wouldn't want those two inside my Legion," Kas responded.

One of Kas' mightiest stepped forward, he carried a large gold and white shield on his back. The edges were sharp, as if the shield itself was a weapon.

"Kas, underestimating our enemies always leads to failure. They aren't any different. Who knows what the Coros family can do," he said.

This was Decka Inua, one of Kas' few champions.

Kas chuckled and didn't respond, he was glad one of his champions caught his mistake. But he wasn't surprised by who it was. Decka has always had a keen eye for flaws.

They continued to watch the parade, mindlessly enjoying the celebration in front of them. Deep down, it was a different story. Alise and Kas were almost getting what they wanted.

Kas' reason for wanting the brothers dead was because of a deal Solice made with him. But the deal never was completed. Solice disappeared before he could repay his debt.

His anger and frustration caused him to see the brothers as more like toys than warriors. The second best thing than what Solice offered was toying around with those who were heir to his title.

As for Alise, she felt like the Coros brothers had no place inside the Legion. The Coros lineage caused too much trouble and found themselves abusing their Third Rules in and outside of battle.

She wanted a Legion where those inside can rest peacefully while the ones outside made their own decisions.

It all stemmed from her backstory, one Kas could relate to. She remembered seeing her cousins being ripped away from her side. The black hands of survival pulled them to fight for the Light Legion.

All Alise wanted is a Legion where the individuals fought if they wanted to, not because they had to. It was a similar case for Kas.

Kas' most feared tactic was to execute the fathers of different families to spread the childhood he had growing up. In his mind, Kas believes losing his dad was the reason why he became so powerful.

His strength blinded him, becoming exactly what he claims others shouldn't be. Kas taught his elites and Sherpas not to raise warriors who see everyone else as someone weaker.

But that was exactly what he saw. His hunt for a worthy opponent causes others into walking down the same path, just so they could become as powerful as him.

The aftermaths usually left the children in shock, same with the mothers. So much shock they instantly submitted to the Light Legion's strength.

Along with that, Kas views his warriors as faceless yet brave. They don't have power over who they are, their lives bend to his Will. But they understand that and still join, making them brave.

Behind the two leaders, Decka carefully observed Quinn. She stared back at him. They were unsure of what the future held, they knew there was going to be a huge twist happening soon.

However, they didn't know when it was going to happen. It was all up to time and whenever the ones causing the event choose it to happen.

Quinn smiled, her fiery smile enchanted Decka. No one realized it, but they were both very close. They, along with other close allies, came together to make a truce.

Whenever that event happens, they would all meet up and fight their way through Imbushko until they reached their Legion's walls. Inside, they would prepare for the future fights.

Inside these same Legion walls would be the birthplace of their baby. It would grow up big and strong like Decka, while also being good looking like Quinn.

But for now, they had to wait until the time was right. No one showed signs of aggression towards the Light Legion, except for the two remaining Coros brothers.

Yet they were no threats to the rest of the Light Legion, only angry brothers wanting to put Ether's spirit to rest. Even if it meant ending up dead during the process.

Inside the Light Legion's walls, Variants who didn't fight were free to live peacefully. While Kas, Alise, and Dire protected them from the outside threats. Nothing would hurt them there.
