Chapter 64 - All They See is Victory

-The day after Frosticus Fall. The Light Legion's perspective-

The glorious Light Legion gathered for a celebration unlike any other. It was to mark their victory against a Legion who has sworn to oppose them and also to celebrate the lives of the lost.

Storm Chaser Sky Beasts rested on the seemingly endless fields inside the Light Legion's walls. Each one carried triumphant Light Legion warriors and Variants who made a name for themselves.

During the preparation for the celebration, Talis asked to meet with the leaders privately. They agreed and invited Talis to the giant tower in the middle of the Legion, this was their war room.

He proudly entered the room, looking all around the mostly empty room. Torn banners, helmets, weapons, and trophies from other Legions hung on the stone pillars.

"Dire, Kas, Alise, it is a pleasure to be here today," Talis spoke to the leaders.

They were sitting around a large wood table in the center of the room. All other seats were looking towards the center by default, to make it easier for everyone to see them properly.

Alise stood up to welcome their guest. "It's the famous Talis himself. I heard so much about you after Frosticus Fall. I'm hoping to hear all about it."

"Then let's not keep him waiting," Kas responded. "Sit down, my precious warrior, we are eager to hear what you have to say."

Talis obeyed and picked a seat across from them. The chair slid over the marble floor, making an uncomfortably loud sound.

"First things first, not everyone we lost died. There has been... one.. exception to this," Talis hooked their attention. "It's Pearl Omnor, little girl thought it would be interesting to betray us."

Dire bursted out laughing, he aggressively pounded on the table as he did. "PEARL? HER??" he continued to laugh hysterically. "AH! Ah... I knew something was strange about her."

"How so?" Talis asked.

"You see, my little Zegus. Many Thawed obey the guardians of their native mountains. So when they have an odd dream or thought, they instantly think it's a message from the guardian," Dire replied.

Alise straightened her back. "For who?"

"You remember the Coros family? That's who," Talis responded.

Kas chuckled. "Those guys are still alive? Interesting - interesting. Thought their foolish betrayal would get them killed out there. But they sound like they're doing just fine."

"Not exactly," Talis formed a proud smile over his face. "I managed to kill their oldest brother. Ether is dead, for real this time."

Dire and Kas applauded Talis' display of power. While they praised him, he smiled to himself internally. He was getting closer to his goal every second the meeting passes.

"Very well done, my warrior. Keep up with that strength and you'll end up finding yourself amongst my most prized combatants. When the day comes to take over Yarno, you'll stand there by my side," Kas celebrated.

Talis looked pleased with himself. Being noticed by the most physically powerful Prime inside the Light Legion was impressive.

"Were they part of the Frosticus Legion?" Alise asked.

"No, they had a different kind of armor set compared to the Frosticus warriors," Talis tried to remember the difference. "It looks like their colors are black and blue."

Dire pondered for a moment. He was thinking of setting up a Wild Hunt to find which Legion they were part of, so they could kill the traitors before they grew in strength.

"I'll order Risk, Vernair, Trijunn, and Denimst to lead a Wild Hunt for the Legion who claimed them as theirs," Dire announced.

Kas clapped twice before turning his attention to Dire. "Then I'll have Quinn, Decka, Struto, and Vildix prepare their armies once they find them."

"We'll discuss more about that later. Let Talis talk," Alise interrupted.

Talis cleared his throat then brought up an interesting topic. "What's more interesting, is it appears whatever Legion the Coros family belongs managed to tame a Distorted. One came in and didn't attack Ether."

"What??" Alise asked in disbelief. "Who would be cowardice enough to make a being made from the pits between realities fight on their behalf?"

"Those who kill for no care about survival and the lives of others!" Talis answered.

Alise closed her eyes and gave a pleased smile. "Very good answer."

Having all this praise from the leaders of the biggest Legion in Imbushko made Talis realize something. It was so simple to impress them, as long as he continues playing a wise hero, he'll be praised far more than anyone else.

"Before I stop wasting anymore of your precious time. I want to honor Troni and Enes for fighting out there," Talis said.

Dire, Kas, and Alise kept their eyes on him. Waiting to hear what he was going to say next.

"Troni and Enes were close allies of the Coros brothers, only to die at a Distorted who was under their command. I promise to be the one responsible for the deaths of Demon and Jakery to honor them," Talis announced.

The three leaders applauded Talis' promise to the dead siblings. They were sure Talis was going to succeed and put the last two Coros members to rest for good.

So much so, Dire placed him under Trijunn's pack. This pack brought down beasts mightier than any seen during conflicts, and the leader was responsible for the Conqueror Legion's destruction.

It was the Light Legion's time to begin taking over the rest of Imbushko, so their arrival in Yarno would be one unlike other invasions.

But they are completely unaware of the problems trying to take over the Imbushko had. Both inside their own Legion, and the ones outside.

These problems could force the Light Legion to enter a state they haven't been in since the last Primed War: a state of panic and fear, where the region didn't feel safe to travel alone.

Koroth would find itself as the host of another Legion on Legion conflict. Something rare, even for the restless beings Primes are. Everyone involved will be pushed beyond their breaking point.
