Valentine stopped at the edge of Green Jaw, sending Gloria off to fetch his allies in Krugi. As the beast darted through the skies like a rogue lightning bolt, Digon's touch crept into Valentine's body.
Soothing cold, the type to make one numb. The body fails at that point, unable to function without any heat. In that cold temperature, a Thawed grows.
Extreme blizzards or tough moments set each one up for a moment to themselves. Absolute zero lets a Thawed die without dying, keeping them on the brink of eternal sleep.
When Gloria was out of sight, Valentine pondered about entering absolute zero. Letting Digon freeze his body completely and thaw him out when needed. But he was there for a reason.
Time went by in the blink of an eye. Next thing the great Thawed knew, Gloria landed down in front of him with three passengers on her back. She screeched, showing her pride after obeying.
"Good girl, Gloria. Okay," Valentine climbed onto Gloria's back. "If you see any snow moving or several icy-blue dots let us know. Mountain Ascent Sky Beasts blend well with Digon."
Jakery, Danitour, and Ether gave their thumbs up. Instantly patrolling the ground with their eyes as they lifted off and darted across Digon.
For hours, they flew without any signs of lurking predators around the base. Enough time passed to make Valentine consider flying up to the more dangerous aspects of Digon in search for them.
Until Danitour spotted a struggling Cemtras. "I don't think snow likes rock-solid meat. Valentine, I found some!"
Attention instantly fell on the large grey body of a downed Cemtras. It's arms flailed around, trying to bash some of its attackers off before they finished the kill.
It unleashed a bone-rattling roar, making sure Digon itself knew the beast was enraged. Every movement it did from then on had murderous intensions.
"Aye! Get ready to dive for it. They want flashy moves and high adrenaline while falling, give them what they want and they'll tame right up," Valentine instructed.
Jakery got on one knee, cautiously looking over Gloria's hind wings. "Will that always work?"
Valentine smiled, turning around to greet Jakery's gaze. "Like feeding raw meat to a starving Feral! They'll love you forever. We're close to Digon's side, have at it."
Without another word, Danitour got up from the beast, then leapt off. He kept his back straight while falling, eyes keen on dodging past the Cemtras.
It howled in fury, ready to slam both arms down on Digon. Right as Danitour slid below its large frame, the beast drove its arms into the snow. The impact sent the Zegus soaring through the sky.
Several beasts charged after him, attention redirected to a new source of entertainment. By the flap of several wings, Danitour could tell he had built a decent following.
Using his momentum, he ground-slammed against Digon. The snow erupted, forming an entrance for him to leap off the ledge they were on.
During that moment of free fall, they all began to screech. Accepting Danitour into their flock. As such, they allowed the Zegus to ride on the back of one of their members.
Jakery took a deep breath, watching his ally perform for a small bunch of them gave him confidence. He looked over his shoulder, waiting to see if Ether was watching.
But when he checked, his sibling already leapt off and had begun stealing the show away from the Cemtras. While Ether fell, he drove his shoulder against the open jaw of the Cemtras. Dazing it.
While it regained control, he grabbed onto one of its teeth then used it to redirect himself onto the beast's head. Up there, he drove a hard punch to the smooth crown on its head.
Twelve Sky Beasts took off after him as he leapt off the Cemtras' head. Each one following behind eagerly waiting for more stunts.
"Full forward!" Valentine encouraged.
"I - if Ether can, I can!" Jakery yelled.
He closed his eyes then leapt off. Sharp winds tossed him around as Digon's frigid body approached. Each gust of air sent severe shivers down his spine despite all the wool in his armor.
Right before he hit the mountainside, Jakery fixed his posture to allow him a redirection. Using his knees, he allowed them to collide, then used his momentum while rolling to do a front-flip.
By now, the Cemtras only had six more Sky Beasts to worry about. Until Jakery's butt dazed it again with an accidental strike to the jaw.
None of the beasts were surprised by that, but were hooked when they heard his screaming. Hearing such high notes interested them the most, encouraging them to give chase.
Valentine and Gloria looked on, blankly blinking at what they just saw.
"Some say there's an unexplainable link between Thawed and Sky Beast... so are you also surprised to see that thing get stunned by a Zesher's bum?" Valentine asked Gloria.
There were no words coming out of her beak, only jubilant, beastly screeching. Which was enough to confirm with Valentine he was not imagining things.
Jakery continued to scream while he darted down Digon, falling on his head and continuing a slide using his face instead of lower back. Which earned a lot of pity from the Sky Beasts.
A small rock struck Jakery's crown, forcing him to front-flip again but this time off the same ledge Danitour did. Sending the Zesher panicking and screaming off.
Ear-splitting winds crashed against his face plates, until there was a sudden halt and an eruption upwards. One of the beasts tamed and it was helping him get to safety.
For the rest of their day, all Variants continued to bond with their beasts by repeatedly leaping off high ledges and performing stunts. Except for Jakery, who figured out they enjoyed his voice.
Instead of diving, they screeched along as he sang some songs Ether used to make for him when they were younger. Sending Jakery back to when times were simple and fun.
During the days of having two older brothers instead of one, and when nothing felt better than a motherly hand tugging on his cheek as a friendly Yonie gesture.
