Chapter 7 - 4. Saving the Devil

Alejandro

I did not sleep well last night, I spent most of it sketching the lady in red.

I did some light workouts, took a hot shower and drank some black coffee to get me ready for the day. I did not follow my regular routine because of my lack of sleep, which was a new experience for me, as this was the first instance of tardiness in almost 2 years. Should I be angry or happy for this new happening? I wondered to myself.

After breakfast with my family I met up with Carlos and gave him the sketch. He teased me a little, but promised me to find out about her.

A week later...….

It was a normal cold and chilly winter morning. I got about my morning routine and spent some quality time with my family. They always manage to cheer me up and make my day better. I don't know how I would have managed such a huge organization and other factors like leading a double faced life in front of the world, if it had not been for the strong support and selfless love of my family.

It's rightly said, family completes a man. I am really lucky to have such amazing parents and siblings. Life is hard and running a cartel doesn't get any easier, but I will always be motivated to keep my family name shining bright and make them feel happy and proud of me.

I got into my car and my driver drove me to my regular stop, Martinez group of hotels headquarters.

I was already running a little late, so I hoped to avoid traffic and cover the distance quickly. To my utter dismay there was a  "carretera en reparación(Road under repairs)".

"Mierda(fuck)" I muttered under my breath.

Our regular road was under repairs and we had to take the back-up road, which was rarely used and isolated. With no other option in sight, we took that road.  The road was surrounded by tall coniferous trees and it was a beautiful and natural sight as compared to the regular route.

I was enjoying the cool morning temperatures and nature, still thinking about the girl in red, her actions had me in awe, even now!

I was brought back to my senses by the sudden swerve made by my driver, and I caught a large carrier truck almost about to crash into our car. The quick-thinking driver did avoid the crazy driver, but due to the last second swerve at high speed he lost control and went off road. The brakes could not prevent our vehicle from crashing against a giant tree nearby. The impact must have been really hard and I must have hit my head, because the next minute my vision went black.

Gabriella

I had a terrible night terror the night before I planned to crash Alejandro's car.

I dreamt about my mom, brother and dad. It was a sunny Sunday and we were in a beautiful park, enjoying a little picnic.

We were watching the sunset together I was a little girl wearing a pretty pink frock. My mom looked so pretty in her red gown, my dad looked handsome as ever. Me and my brother were running around playing with our Frisbee and having a great time.

It was such a beautiful moment, I wanted to catch it and lock it up in a bottle. To watch it whenever I felt sad or lonely and feel the completeness of my family.

Suddenly, the mood became ominous and a dark mist started rising over the park we were in. Slowly it engulfed my entire family I could hear them scream and cry, I tried to reach out with my tiny hands but they were slowly slipping far away from me and soon they vanished entirely from my sight.

I was in a dark void-like space, with no light just darkness and silence. I tried to call out for help, screamed loudly if anyone's there but I could only hear my own voice echo back. I was stuck in a dark chamber of some sorts and the silence and darkness was getting eerie. I saw my little self lie down in the fetal position and sob inconsolably.

I gained consciousness sudden jolt, but my body felt like it was paralyzed I could not move. It was scary, but slowly I could move my body. I was sweating profusely and my sheets and night clothes were soaking wet.

I felt so weak and dizzy remembering the terror that I lay on the bed in fetal position crying for almost an hour. I lost track of time after that and woke up around 6am, groggy.

The events of last night, further motivated me to stay focused on my goal and execute every step precisely. I did not feel any remorse or guilt towards Alejandro, for trying to trap him and hurt him real bad.

I took a warm shower and prepared myself for the accident. I choose to wear a skinny jeans with a leather jacket and black boots.

I called Sergio from my burner phone and asked him about any updates. He had his spies in the road department who had found out information regarding a possible repair work to be initiated that very morning. Their entire plan was hinging on this one chance event. If this repair did not commence in time, they would have to wait months for another opportunity like this.

Luckily Sergio brought good news. The repair work was in progress and they had blocked, Alejandro's regular route. Now it was Gabriella's turn to go and wait for the perfect timing to rescue the bastard and win a favor.

As per the plan, Sergio had stationed his men in a large carrier truck to swerve Alejandro off the road, which would be accounted to a normal case of rash driving. As his vehicle would crash against the nearby trees, I would make my entry and save the wounded Alejandro and escort him to my apartment.

This might sound like an easy plan, but most of it was dependent on luck, and one little part not falling in place, could jeopardize the entire operation. My heart was thumping and I was really nervous and excited.

I reached my designated blind spot and observed the operation unfold from afar. I watched Alejandro's car swerve as our truck almost rammed into his car, I waited with baited breathe and waited for the next part to fall into place. The driver stepped out to help Alejandro, but he was shot dead by Sergio waiting in the shadows.

I got into action and drove my car along the road and walked towards the wreck to help the injured like a Good Samaritan. I parked my car along the road and helped Alejandro out from the open driver's side. It was a difficult task to carrying him to my car, but thanks to my combat training and regular workouts, it was a child's play for me.

Pulling out a syringe, i pushed it into his veins quickly to make sure he would make it to my place alive.

This guy was very muscular and strong, he would be a formidable foe, I will really enjoy toiling and playing with him. I will make him pay for every anxious minute I have spent my entire childhood, for all those suicidal thoughts and gloomy days.

All those days I yearned for my family to be complete again but all in vain.

I will make him realize the meaning of losing your loved ones. At this point of time another diabolical idea entered my revenge crazed mind.
