Chapter 136 - Mall

"Let's go to the mall! We can go get Ether some new clothes and get ourselves a new wardrobe." I suggest enthusiastically. "I agree." Ryhem said with a smile, "Let's get going, then." I said, changing directions to the mall.

Wherever we walked, we turned heads, causing quite the fuss on the street. Some took pictures and some just stared with either jealousy or awe. "Wow, you're so beautiful you still cause a fuss wherever you go." Ryhem stated flirtatiously. "Oh, it's not just me, it's you, too," I responded with the same energy as him.

We were almost at the mall. We had stopped to get donuts, as Ether suggested after smelling the amazing aroma. We had gotten the honey-glazed donuts and chocolate donuts because Ryhem has an insane capacity for sweets. A honey-glazed donut alone sounds like enough to give someone a heart attack, blood clot, and diabetes in one bite.

He handed a piece to Ether, and I grabbed the piece out of Ether's hand before he could chew on it. I threw Ryhem a glare before handing the honey-drenched piece back to him. "That's too unhealthy for him." I told Ryhem, "Eh, not necessarily. Sure, it's unhealthy, but it's a tiny piece, and if something goes wrong, I could just heal him." He's got an element of truth to his words, but still, Ether is almost three years old. High contents of sugar aren't good for him at all.

"Never mind, just don't give him any honey-drenched donuts, please." "Whatever you say." We arrived inside the mall. "Where should we go? So many places to visit." Ryhem said with sparks of light inside of his eyes. "Clothes first!" I said without a shadow of hesitation to think about what else I wanted to do.

"Sure," Ryhem responded he never argues with me. Sometimes it'd be nice to hear what he thinks. "Y'know what? What do you want to do?" Ryhem looked kind of surprised, which wasn't a common sight to see. "Um, I guess I'd like to go to the electronics store and get a new phone for myself and a kids tablet for Ether." "Sure, let's go do that first then!"

We went to the electronics store; I had kept up with all the newest phones and gadgets, Ryhem, on the other hand, did not I mean with his job he couldn't he had to stay in different places for decades maybe centuries and he had just come back from a long time not taking break two centuries I think?

So it was always hard for him to keep up with new things trends and depending on how long he's gone, even the language. But our language doesn't change much over the years and the language we mainly speak is continental, making it hard for widespread changes to the language even plausible.

We arrived at the electronics store, and Ryhem's eyes lit up with curiosity. He really was excited to see this place. I see now that listening in on his opinions is better than just letting him stay silent while I make small decisions. He's always letting me do things first and doesn't even remedy; y think about what he wants before asking me what I want.

I stayed walking with Ether while he looked around the store slightly ahead of me. "Wow! You see that? It's powered with power-ranked beast cores!" He said, looking at me with stars in his eyes. I nodded. He picked up the phone then went looking for a tablet and a tv.

He found a tablet. It was also powered with power-ranked beast cores. Ryhem decided that was the tablet he would give to Ether. "I'm pretty sure that's a professional-grade tablet that the target audience is corporate CEOs of big companies." I pointed out, "Still going to get it." I shook my head lightly and just went along with it.

Ryhem then found a nice-sized Tv, and that was all. Then he went up to a counter and put the devices on the counter. "I'd like two hundred fifty of the TV's three of these phones and only one tablet." He put his crystal card on the counter and the transactions were made.

"Ship them to the Ryhem manor in the Ryhem own forest." The cashier nodded, handed the phones over to Ryhem.

"Next up clothes!" I walked to the clothes store with Ryhem and Ether until we were stopped by a guy with a camera. He took out a business card and offered it to both of us. "I'd like to offer you both a modeling contract for my company. I'd appreciate it if you accepted, as you both are truly an amazing sight to behold."

"Thank you, I'll look into it." And I really meant that I want to do something to kill the time for now and a modeling contract sounds pretty fun. Ryhem accepted the card, but I could tell from his body language that he clearly didn't want to participate. The man left and Ryhem gave me an odd look.

"You're going to give it a chance, aren't you?" He said deadpan. "You bet," I responded with a teasing voice.

"I knew it. You looked too bored around the house lately. You need something to do." He picked up on that?

We went to the store, picked out some nice clothes and left back to the manor.
