Chapter 120 - Alone. 2

The police rammed the door open and an entire squad came busting in with their armor and swords on. I kept crying with blood all over my hands. How could one thing go so wrong so fast? Everyone was dying. The entire floor was covered in blood. The cops dropped their weapons and put them in their sheathes, seeing there was no danger.

I was still holding his chest. He wasn't gone. None of them were. Right? None of them are... I threw up violently and kept coughing, "Kid, you need a hospital. They're dead!" One of the officers said, emphasizing the dead part. "No, no, no, none of them are dead. They're just hurt!" I said, trying to sound hopeful and failing.

Officer Mayhem...

I was heartbroken, looking at the kid sitting on the floor soaked in blood and wounds. They must've been his friends. I grabbed the kid's arm he shoved it off forcefully. "No, I have to keep holding him! He's going to die!" I grabbed the kid's arm again. "Kid, he's dead! All of them are dead!" "That's not possible!" He screamed at my face, choking on his own words.

I didn't let go of his arm and forcefully put it on the left side of the kid's chest, "He's dead! Now come on!" He then completely broke down in finally had hit him. His friend was dead. After seeing sights like this almost every week. I had become normalized with the idea of dead bodies people crying. My job was just one of sadness and violence. But that didn't mean I felt any less heartbroken seeing it every day.

But this one was strange blood. It covered the kid and there were multiple bodies there, the rest of the people who obviously weren't his friends... They were dead killed brutally. The kid had finally cried all of his tears out and was just deduced to yelling and screams of agony.

"AAAGHHHHHHHHH!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" His voice sounded even more cracked every time he screamed. I looked at him, confused about what to do. I then took out my sedatives and stabbed him in the arm with the strongest I had. Putting him out, he should be out for a while, which is good because this kid's brain needs a serious break.

And where were his parents? He didn't look sixteen yet. So what's going on? I hoisted the kid out into the police van. No time to call the ambulance. The rest of the team called the investigators and the cleaners to save them. Hopping n the car, the rest of the team yelped loudly.

"What the hell, Mayhem!! The kids getting blood all over!" "Just drive, to the nearest hospital. We sped uncontrollably. After nine minutes we had arrived at the hospital hoisting him back over my shoulder. They grabbed the kid and put him in a roll-out bed to carry him.

They rolled away, the doctors yelling at each other the injuries he had sustained.

I replayed the image I had just seen in my head. I scratched my hair and sat down. I still have to write a report for the incident tonight and still have to go drive home with so many things to do.

1 day and a half later...

Theo...

My eyes fluttered open. I felt tired then all the memories from today or was it yesterday? Came flooding back to my brain. I still had a massive headache but... All of my friends, dead so fast. One night changed my entire life. How could that even happen? No, it was twenty-five minutes that changed the entire course of my life.

They're all dead. I can't go back in time. I can't fix it. I can't do anything. All I've got now is my mom and my sister Jackson's dead. Micheal's dead. Parker's dead. All my childhood friends are dead. I sat up in my bed and saw that Layla was sleeping in a chair next to my bed.

It brought a happy thought to my mind that was quickly doused by the waterfall of sadness that was losing my friends. All of them in one go in less than an hour. Dead. Dead. Dead. I covered my face and cried. I'll never see them ever again.

Then another memory of the night came back. I killed people. Leaning over, I threw up violently on the floor. Layla woke up confused and frightened at the sight in front of her. "Doctor! Doctor!" Layla yelled for the doctor in fear and concern. "I'm sorry." I weakly spoke to her. Layla's eyes darted back to me. "What are you apologizing for?" "The hospital bills... You know we can't pay for them." Her eyebrows shifted, and the look on her face intensified.

"You have over ten thousand Heiro sitting in your closet saved up mind telling us where that came from?" That's my stash of money that's specifically only supposed to be used when one of us is in the hospital. But not me... The doctor rushed in and saw the regurgitated food on the floor. Or was it food? It was a lot of red.

I looked at my hands. I had lost weight, and quite the amount to I was paler than ever my olive-colored skin. The doctor gave me a quick checkup, looking into my pupils and all. "You'll be fine eventually, but you need lots of rest and lots of calories." I had been looking down, so I hadn't even caught a look at the doctor.

He left and closed the door. "Where did the money come from Theo?" "Nowhere! But you're not going to use that to pay for it." "What! You have more?!" "Ye-" I coughed intensely. "As I was saying." "Yes. I do, but you can't tell mom."

"Too late, she already knows."

You snitch...
