Sapphire, meanwhile at the military base…
I clashed another time with him, and I was panting and out of breath. But so was he. He looked tired out and so was I. I clashed with him again and again. Going from above, below and behind. Eventually, I hit him, grazing him on the shoulder and I saw it heal immediately.
C'mon, he has a healing factor? Lucky. He rushed towards me with his long sword and took a ship at my neck. I slightly grazed. Holy s***! Is he trying to kill me!! "I'm sorry I didn't mean to go for the neck!" He said, apologizing quickly. That's going to scare me. I readjusted myself to my fighting stance and turned on my power.
I rushed forward phantom step then some slight footwork I followed up with a vertical upwards slash that he blocked but I kept attack parrying and getting a cut on his upper shoulder he was off balance but quickly regained his balance and hit my shoulder with the hilt of his silver blade hard. I heard a cracking sound in my shoulder and it moving out of its place.
It was my non-dominant right hand, so I still had the arm that I used to fight in commission. So that's good. Now all I need to do is knock him out. Way easier said than done, he has a freaking healing factor.
That's quite literally one of the most unbeatable powers of all time and is famously hard to defeat. But my power can negate that if I want to use my power, I'll have to hold back the force of my attacks. I kept attacking and got a long scar on his stomach. He backed up after realizing he was bleeding.
He looked confused. "What did you do?!" "I'm not healing?" He turned tomato red. I swept my bangs out of my face and put most of my hair behind my back. I wish I had brought a hair tie. Going as fast as I could put a loud sonic boom in my dust.
His eyes opened wide as he put his sword up fastly I moved my sword over to the left crashing right into him dragging both of us back I had my legs wrapped around him to make sure that he didn't escape once the momentum stopped I had won.
I was sitting on top of him with my sword at his neck. Standing up and getting off of him, I extended a hand, and he took it. He stood up with the support from my hand. "Good game." I spoke softly, "Likewise." I shook his hand, and I turned around and sat on the floor to see the other fights.
But then I decided to just go ask permission to go back to my room. I lightly jogged through the space in between each box if you could call it an arena. The fights were separated by cuts in the ground that are square-shaped.
I saw my sergeant standing there with the greatest amount of pride and hope on his face I had ever seen but it was a cunning kind of pride the kind that wouldn't bring kings down but the kind that would bring them up through bloodshed opposed to bravery.
He couldn't wait to send us all out like lambs to the slaughter, and I could tell just by the look on his face. He was pretty tall, like 6'3 and I'm slightly below average height. Even though I still have some space to grow, I'm slightly worried.
"Uh, sergeant sir?" I said, to get his attention. "What is it, cadet?" "May I go back to my dorm to get something?" "Sure." He said in a dazed kind of tone. I walked towards my dorm. I honestly wanted my necklace and my phone.
The only person I really have to text is Theo, and I don't want to make conversation with any one of my Relix friends because of how we parted. I'm still reeling in regret from the way I parted with them and how often I think about it as not healthy.
I eventually reached my dorm room and got on my bed to get my stuff as my gym bag had been sitting on the right bottom edge of my bed this entire time. Climbing up, I grabbed my necklace and my phone. Putting on my necklace, I put my phone in my pocket with white earphones in after taking off my armor.
I walked back outside to the slab of concrete. Where it had started raining, of course. Now everybody had finished fighting while my duel ended with some bruises and light cuts. Many others were severely injured. They should not have put this many high-powered people in the same place.
The arena was cracked and destroyed beyond quick repair. A lot of people were sitting down panting heavily while their clothes were stained in blood, looking at their hands. A lot of them had probably committed more acts of violence in the past few days than in the past couple of years.
It was changing them, this training the environment. I mean, that's what it was made to do just to make us soldiers nothing more, nothing less. How? I guess this is how. Making us commit acts of violence against each other until we become numb to hurting people on the other side.
Huh, clever.
But obviously, since I figured out what they're trying to do. They are not smarter than I am because if I were to train people like this, I probably would do the same thing, but one small change. Put them in the wilderness for some days on end and force them to work together, pair them up with people they don't like and tell them to suck it up.
Now all that is needed is to sit on the ground, listen to my playlist and wait for the next orders. I sat down and started my playlist. Closing my eyes, I meditated, then I felt other people coming near me and sitting down, resting and doing the same thing.
I then used my forca technique and emitted a strong life force pressure signal. Some people saw what I was doing and attempted it. I could feel it. they failed then succeeded I could feel them meditating odd.
I then saw the locked part of my power.
I reached forward and grabbed it furiously.
