Chapter 56 - Scars

This pressure was different. Sapphire could feel every single empty sad and angry emotion Brian was having. "Brian!" "Brian!" Mina yelled and shook his shoulders. You couldn't even see his pupils anymore.

"SHUT UP!!!" Brian screamed. "I'm sorry!" Mina screamed understanding her blunder. She had no idea how fragile Brian's mental state had been since Kyla's death.

Sapphire kept running through the pressure. Those tears were not hers, but Brian's.

If nobody could feel his pain, then he wanted them to. Sapphire eventually ripped her dress to let her run better.

She reached towards Brian grabbing him while on his knees pulling him into a hug.

"It's all okay."

"Just breathe."

A nose bleed flowed from Sapphire and an absolutely excruciating headache ensued.

She kept hugging him with her eyes leaking blood.

After ten minutes Brian's pain subsided.

Realizing the pain he had brought upon her, he cried. Letting it out.

"Why didn't you just let go?" "You could've hit me, knocked me unconscious. Why? Why didn't you?" He said, looking into her eyes.

There he saw something different than what he always saw, Sapphire was sleep-deprived with bags under her eyes so bad you'd think she'd just been tortured.

"I figured you wouldn't want to wake up with a giant bruise over your head." She said trying yet failing to smile.

20 minutes later Ljos city, 8:45 pm… (The city where Sapphire lives where the ball is at and where the unhidden Relix academy is the capital… Also, I'll start putting the city names in the transitions.)

The tear of the entire ballroom finally stopped. No one knew what happened just an awfully dreadful feeling like there whole world was going to crash in front of them.

Scratch that there were four people in the ballroom who knew what happened but were not directly there. Of course, it was Raimy, Tenner, Leona, and Maly. They had felt Brian's overwhelming pressure before.

Or aka his life pressure. Also commonly known across under-educated people as killing intent.

Which is actually more accurate due to the description of the will to kill. Once one discovers Hacht to a certain level, they will be able to do this with practically no effort or any will to kill at all.

Or if you are a trained killer you won't have an issue with this at all or a serial killer but we won't delve too deep into that.

Eventually, after carrying Sapphire over to the group and leaving in the luxury car there was an unusual and serious silence.

But first Leona spoke. "No more secrets. Right before I met you, what was going on?"

Brian went on to explain the edited story.

"Well, right before we met you as you certainly know the girl I liked and I and Sapphire's best friend died." "What?!" The group except for Sapphire because she's sleep and Leona said in unison.

"So your friend was one of the ones that died at the hands of evil?" Tenner said with his hand on his chin. Brian bit his lip to the point of bleeding "Those other people that died! They were the perpetrators that killed her!" Brian slammed his fist on the armrest making the car shake.

The group just stared with wide eyes. They were more surprised that Sapphire didn't wake up despite the fact that she was sleeping on Brian's lap. "And they did so much more than just kill her…" He said, calming down into a silent sadness as he looked outside the window.

"Why were you so beat up! Stop holding the truth!" Leona said aggressively. "You think it wasn't that bad do you?" He said, looking at her directly with dead-looking eyes.

He rolled up his sleeves. They shivered to see what was under. A long thick scar ran from his forearm to the end of his wrist. His eyes quickly turned crazed. "You think they didn't try to kill us either?"

They were silent for a while. "I- I'm sorry I didn't know it was so bad." Leona looked away in shame, realizing how insensitive she had been.

Tenner felt pity and sadness for them 'Why didn't we hear about this?' Raimy thought. 'That explains those two's messed up thought process.'
