I got tempted.
The carriage is a nondescript black, parked just around the turn of a corner. And Eduardo reassures me one last time, seeing that I was chasing my eyes around nervously. Honestly, the only thing on my mind was whether a punch was a good way to go or if a cat-mode scratch galore would be better when he attacks me.
Yes, when. Not if he attacks me.
But being the dumb bitch that I am, I climbed up the carriage after hearing his reassurance. Now I listen to the clatter of the wheels as we zoom past the market and way along the stoned path to Mathias' estate which I still do not know where it exactly is. Sensing the awkward dust settling in the air, I clear my throat to elevate it and hopefully, make him look away. I can and have been feeling his eyes on me for a while now. It fleets back and forth but I could sense it stay on me for long elongated moments.
"Scusami, my apologies. I don't have any salve or ointment in the carriage."
