Chapter 38 - 38. Escape

Bland.

It's terribly more bland than plain baked potatoes.

And by that, I mean this party as opposed to my expectations.

The dance lasted about fifteen minutes but in reality, it felt like two hours of parading and twirling my peacock feathers in front of the guests. But that was safely the most exciting part of this banquet for me so far. 

And after that, we had to go around greeting the guests and by the time the dance had come to an end, the entire large room was almost filled to the brim with guests. And that is exactly what we are doing right now. And we have done the same thing, talked over the same thing with an ambiguous set of faces that I would not be torture myself to remember.

"Such a joyous occasion." She croons, shaking as she did so. I believe it's the Duchess we met in passing at the birthday party of the Welstone, "It must have been such an important day for you two. How precious." She regales us with a tiny giggle at the end.
