Chapter 69 - 69. Plan Disrupted

"So you are leaving, huh?" I mumble as we both walked to the front threshold of the house. Elian was leaving for his morning rounds and I trail behind him helplessly as he briskly steps out the foyer of the sprawling Sommet du Ciel. He steps out of the shadow of the house, squinting a frown towards the morning sunlight as he walks towards the carriage.

The stablehand is scrambling about as soon as he sees Elian approaching. Elian is a good few minutes late after our confrontation but it seems the stablehand took it easy as well as he hasn't readied the carriage quite yet. He quickly proceeds to dust off the carriage in a hurry, a flurry of dust appearing when he hits the rag cloth against the back of the carriage. The dust has piled up since Elian hasn't gone out or traveled in the carriage in a while. A good three to four days nursing me back to proper health and he still won't admit that I have gotten better even now. He talks while walking.
