"Elian!" I call out again, stepping out of the bathtub.
The plops of the water drops are still echoing behind me as I step into the rug on the floor. It has made even breathing difficult for me as I fear that I would be making too loud a sound. I don't know what it is there outside but i have to be prepared for everything brutal and unseen. And I have to fear for my life as well.
I slowly thread my way without any sound and quietly open the door. I stare at the scene in front of me, simply not knowing how to react.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
Alec swiftly turns around in shock, dropping the shirt i had just put aside before i went in the bath. I look down at the shirt pointedly and then back up, almost glaring at him. I run my eyes through his body and his face, checking for anything amiss. He looks like anybody who had just gotten caught— like a deer caught in headlights.
