Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: Isobel predicament

"In a dark environment, yes, it was really dark, there was a bird and a man, i really couldn't see his face, i mean, i have never once saw his face but i can tell he will be handsome" Isobel held her face as she couldn't believe she let out such an obnoxious word out of her mouth. "Go on" an elderly woman said while changing postions of the red cards turned on the table. The environment was quite noisy and busy as various people patrolled the area, Isobel couldn't concentrate as her attention kept swaying back to the people around.

The pressing feeling that someone she knows might come walking through that door couldn't help but give her goose bumps.

She can't allow herself to be caught in this kind of place with this kind of scary woman, who still scares her by the way.

"If not for the fact that I have to find out the meaning of my persistently repeated dream, I wouldn't even be here with a witch doctor" Isobel muttered to herself.

She lifted her head slowly as she found the witch doctor staring at her mischievously, still waiting for her to continue her story.

" Well, after staring at me for a while he will start chasing me like he wants to kill me or something and he does that every time I dream of this, what do you think is happening to me?" She asked looking a little bit worried.

Even if Many thoughts are running through her head right now, she dare not come to a conclusion.

After a while of her doing her concussion the witch doctor finally spoke "my dear, your name is Isobel right?" Isobel nodded her head, looking more confused, that wasn't the response she was expecting after the long talk.

"Good and according to what you had told me, you lost your boyfriend few months ago to an accident and then you couldn't live without him so you tried to commit suicide ". Isobel nod her head in disagreement, " not suicide, I just took some sleeping pills since I couldn't sleep.

To Isobel, that was quite a satisfying explanation until the woman scream, Isobel felt like her heart was going to jump out, that was the last reaction she could have expected.

"He is angry, very, very angry".

"Who?" Isobel asked looking confused at the whole situation.

"Fredo!"

"She mentioned his name, after a while someone finally mentioned his name to me".

Isobel heart became heavy as tears started to form in her eyes, in a flash, all the memories she shared with Fredo starts flooding back.

Even up till now she still can't embrace the fact that he is dead and she will never see him again.

"He is very angry, because you tried to kill yourself and he and he wants you to stay alive that's why he keeps chasing you in your dream, just think of it as a punishment for trying to kill yourself". That was it, the final push.

The anger in which she stoop up from the chair made the witch doctor to stare at her in confusion, the look on her face was too scary but what was even scarier was how she looked at her friend who has been seated there the whole time, nodding appreciatively at every word the witch doctor uttered.

What else could she expect, Caroline literally dragged her here, explaining how good the witch doctor was, all she said since the beginning of the day was praises of the witch doctor.

Right now, Isobel couldn't help but feel disappointed, this witch was a far cry from good. She doesn't even know Fredo that well, if there was one thing Isobel was sure about Fredo it would be the fact that he loved her too much to even get mad at her so how could he ever hurt her.

The witch is a quack!!.

Isobel concluded as she aggressively dragged Caroline of the chair.

"Let's go" she clenched her teeth tight while speaking to Caroline.

"But.... wait...why...buh ...she" Caroline stammered as she was been dragged away.

"She is a fake, a scammer, I can't believe I let you Cajole me into meeting her" Isobel said with a mixed feeling of anger and frustration.

Her speed in walking was beyond normal as she couldn't wait to be far from there.

"But I only wanted to help you, I mean, your therapist couldn't be of much help to you".

Caroline said while trying to keep up with Isobel, she could already feel herself running out of breathe.

"WAIT" Caroline shouted with all her might like it would be her last word after a while, Isobel looked back at Caroline who held her knees while trying to calm her breathe, Caroline raised her head to look at Isobel who was still looking very angry.

"What...." Caroline hesitated a while to make sure she was about to say the right thing.

"What if she was right, maybe you having those dreams because you still can't let go of the fact that Fredo is gone and that's why you mind is torturing you. So I believe, if you can learn to forget or start remembering him as a good memory or when you finally stop blaming yourself about his death then all this will stop happening and am sure Fredo wants that as well".

Caroline stared at Isobel whose eyes no longer showed anger but were clouded with tears.

Caroline now felt bad as she ran to give her a tight hug.

"He is dead, he is dead because of me, I...I...i should have.." Isobel could only utter those words as she cried bitterly on Caroline shoulder. Not knowing how else to pet her, she could only pat her back as tears fell down her eyes.
