Tanya had got Anthony's message and, as predicted, she panicked. The phone call to the school had revealed that he had left the premises during the school day. The next call was to Alice who would surely know what was going on.
"Alice, its Tanya, Anthony's mother. Do you know where he is?"
"No, I don't. He didn't turn up to science class and he wasn't waiting for me when school finished. I tried to call him, but his phone is off."
"He didn't say anything about a problem, or that he had to go somewhere?"
"No. You're making me worry now. He tells me practically everything, but he has just disappeared. What if something has happened to him?"
"Don't get upset. I got a text from him, but all it said was that he was alright and that he would call me tomorrow. I was hoping that you knew what it was all about."
"No. Will you let me know when you hear from him. I'll let you know if he calls me."
"Of course. Thanks Alice. Now, don't worry and I'm sure things will sort themselves out."
