Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Magnus Carlson lived in a world filled with extraordinary people that thrive and people that weren't so extraordinary had painful lives.

Magnus was one of those people, someone who lived a life of pain and sorrow, writhing around every day just to survive in the wasteland where anyone who isn't extraordinary stayed.

Every day he would struggle to put even a crumb on his table when he one day found out that he was extraordinary.

He went into the barren wasteland that was filled with monsters because he needed peri.

He encountered a giant boar that was stronger than he could've possibly ever imagined.

[Boar has activated skill: Charge]

Once he saw a skill for the first in his life, a blue pattern came over his eyes and it was like a snowflake inside his eye but then suddenly, he was different.

[Magnus has activated skill: Charge]

[Charge has been added to arsenal]

He did the exact same thing, except he was stronger in every way.

He knocked the boar over but it wasn't finished yet.

It got back up again it tried to attack again.

[Boar has activated skill: Strengthening]

[Strengthening has been added to arsenal]

[Boar has activated skill: Charge]

The boar became two times stronger and Magnus felt scared, even though he damaged it once, there was no way he'd do it again.

Or so he thought.

[Magnus has activated skill: Strengthening]

[Magnus has activated skill: Charge]

The boar was weaker than Magnus and when they charged, there was a loud crack and the boar fell over on the floor.

[Boar has been killed]

[Boar meat added to storage]

Magnus couldn't believe what just happened, he hadn't heard of what he did or could he believe.

"Am I..."

He looked at his hands and his whole injury riddled body.

"Extraordinary?"

He knew what he was but he couldn't believe it at all.

He, a weak unextraordinary.

Now he could be classified as extraordinary and maybe his life would change is what he thought to himself.

He was getting greedy and he decided to venture out further into the wilderness.

Soon he met a big scorpion with poison on its tail.

This monster was a big jump compared to what he fought before as he tried to run but the giant scorpion was just too fast.

[Baby Scorpion has activated skill: Poisonous Sting]

A poison exerted from the tips of its tail and it almost hit Magnus.

His eyes shined the blue snowflake again and then again, he did it.

[Magnus has activated skill: Poisonous Sting]

[Poisonous Sting has been added to arsenal]

His fingertips became covered with poison and he could feel it, burning his skin.

[Magnus has activated skill: Strengthening]

His strength doubled when he ran in and stabbed the side of the baby scorpion although it seemed too big to be a child.

The poison left Magnus's body and entered into the scorpions.

He was surprised that the scorpion was susceptible to its own poison.

[Baby Scorpion has been killed]

[Scorpion meat added to storage]

[Scorpion glands added to storage]

[Scorpion plates added to storage]

He was surprised by all he got but he knew if he went further, he would die.

He walked back to the safe area of the wasteland and he looked at the walls covering the green, thriving city behind it.

He walked to his house and he rested from the long and new day, he tried to work out his power but he couldn't.

He kept thinking to himself, what is this power that makes me extraordinary?

Finally he came up with a solution after many hours of thinking.

"I'm a copycat."

To him it all made sense because after each use of a skill, he would be able to use that skill even after just seeing it once.

He got out of his worn and torn bed and he walked outside to see a trader, they came from inside the city and there were people begging him to let them into the city.

They would do anything and they would sell anything, it was horrible to watch.

That was how Magnus thought, he was a man of good virtue and moral.

He walked over to the trader and then he said some words that might interest him.

"I killed a baby scorpion."

He looked over at Magnus and he was curious.

"You killed a baby scorpion?"

"Yes I did. Yesterday."

"Let's see it."

Magnus let out the giant plates and meat from the scorpion and the trader was in disbelief.

"You are extraordinary. Why are you here in the wasteland?"

A man from the crowd spoke up which made everything a little more confusing to the trader.

"He's not extraordinary, we've known him since he was a child."

Extraordinaries had skills immeasurable to anyone and they were always exhibited whenever the extraordinary child was born.

"The only thing he would ever do was copy."

The trader worked out at that moment what incredible power he had.

"Come with me. You can live in the city under my guidance."

What the trader was doing, was obvious.

But Magnus on the other hand didn't accept it.

"I will stay."

"Why would you stay in this wasteland?"

"I need it."

The trader stopped questioning him because his desires were set on staying in the wasteland.

"There is something that I want you to do."

"What is it?"

"I want you to make me some armour from these Scorpion plates, in return I'll bring in a lot more monsters."

He nodded his head and the scorpion plates disappeared.

The trader knew that investing in Magnus would bring him tons of money.

The people all cheered and they ran towards him.

"Magnus, please let us have some meat." Woman A

"Let's have a feast with the meat you brought." Man A

These people were all greedy but he understood them.

"Let's have a feast!"

Night came and they were all dancing around a fire happily eating the scorpion meat, they cried and thanked Magnus.

He was happy with what he did and he went to sleep ready to grow stronger.
