''How could I have slacked off. I didn't. I always go for evening wa- runs. I never slack off. He can attest for me.'' Ivy immediately pointed towards Lyle when she saw him sitting a little further from them.
Without giving coach Taylor a chance to rebuke, Ivy spead forward towards Lyle.
With her back towards Coach Taylor, Ivy pleaded to Lyle. ''Pleass save me this one time. Please please. Just tell him that I go for evening runs everyday. And I exercise very diligently. Please. Just this once. Or that old man will skin me alive.''
''Lyle. Great to see you here.'' Coach Taylor said as he raised a hand for a handshake. And to Ivy's surprise, Lyle seemed very calm about coach Taylor knowing him as he shook his hand very naturally.
''Helli coach Taylor. You still seem quite energetic.''
''I have to be especially when the students have are like the two of you. A complete brat and trouble makers.''
''Hey! How do the two of you know eachother? Why didn't I know about it?'' Ivy said butting inbetween the two people who seemed very known to eachother.
''You brat. Just shut up or I'll make you run another fifty laps. And mind you, you are not done yet.''
Coach Taylor was very successful in making Ivy shut up.
''He used to be my coach as well when I was still a kid.'' Lyle answered because he just couldn't bear to let a certain kitten suffer in curiosity. Especially when he knew that the next to suffer would be him after coach Taylor leaves.
What could Lyle say other than, 'this little kitty is vengeful.'
''Oh... So we are like, what do they call it, like... like... hey coach, you tell.''
''Siblings under the same master.''
''Right. Exactly. That that. Siblings under the same buffoon.''
''You brat.'' Coach Taylor grabbed the back collar of Ivy stopping her from escaping.
''I meant master. MASTER!'' Ivy immediately changed her words as soon as she realized that she was caught.
''I don't think that's what you meant.''
''I did. I did.''
''Scram.''
''With pleasure.''
''You...''
Before coach Taylor could catch her again, Ivy spead off like a monkey whose tail caught fire.
After Ivy left, the scene finally turned peaceful.
''So are you going to play again?'' Coach Taylor asked. The atmosphere turned serious with tha one sentence.
''Nah... It's enough to have one player at home.'' The look on Lyle was so gentle that coach Taylor thought he was dreaming.
After knowing him for years, coach Taylor knew that though Lyle was amicable with everyone, his gentleness was extremely limited. He wouldn't be gentle to just anyone.
But, next, Lyle's words sunk in which made coach Taylor's already saucer like eyes widen even more if it was even possible.
