''Alright then. It's time to sleep.'' Avi said as he was prepared to climb in Ivy's bed. But beforebhe was successful, he was pulled by Lyle.
''The room is so small and thre is only one set of blankets. So why don't you come over to sleep at my place?'' After pulling Avi, Lyle felt a little awkward but he tried to hide it with his words.
''Ah... no need. It's okay. Thanks though, Lyle.''
''But you two are...''
''We are twins. We shared even shared the same womb. It's no big deal that we sleep together. Afterall, it's nothing new. Don't worry. We'll manage well.'' Ivy said completely oblivious of Lyle's uncomfortablity. ''Come, let me see you off.''
And so, though unwilling, Lyle had to leave. Because what she said made sense. They have been together since they were in their mother's womb. And he didn't have any say over what she did. Atleast not without a proper identity.
The whole walk to reach the outside of her place felt weird with both in their own thoughts until Ivy decided to break it.
''Lyle.'' Ivy called out to him determined.
''Yeah?''
''Uh... that... Don't take what Avi said to heart, okay? He isn't a bad person. It's just that he cares about me too much.''
''Huh... What do you mean? What did he say?''
''The things he said when you were outside the convenience store. Though I didn't hear what he said, I know what he said. It has always been like this especially after that thing. So please don't mind him, alright? It's just his way of protecting his loved ones. Silently.''
''So this isn't the first time?''
''Nah. He says this to every friend of mine. And I can't do anything about it because that's his way of taking care of his loved ones. So I just want to say, no matter what he said, just don't take it to heart. He isn't a bad per-"
''Ivy, I know he isn't a bad person and he didn't say anything bad either. I understand it's his way of taking care of you and I'm happy for that. Don't worry okay?''
''Hmm... I thought you might not like him. That's why-"
''It's impossible for me not to like him. Now go inside. It's cold out here. I'll call you once I reach home okay?''
This had been the way since they started hanging out together. No matter where he goes, he will call after reaching there. Even if it's just a small distance.
