aleksis sat in her office going through some files,her mind keeps wandering to the dream she had the other day.it was strange ,she always had weird dreams ,she could see the danger signs ,deep down in her heart she knew that dream was giving her a message
what is wrong with her?? is she some sort of witch ?? first she sees things no normal human can see ,when she gets pissed off her eyes automatically changes to silver ,there are a lot of things she don't understand about herself
when her mother was still alive ,she would always tell her that she was a special child whose purpose is so safe guard the world from evil and protect the universe at times she would look at her mother and laugh thinking her mother lost her mind, during the last days of maria 's life( aleksis mother) she would say weird things to aleksis .she was drawn back to the last conversation she had with her mother
"mum ,I am home" she shouted as she pulled off her school shoes to wear a pink crocc
she strolled down to her mother's room " mum??" she called ,her hands turned the knob and she popped her head to look into the room ,she felt odd ,her heart was beating wildly ,is mother going to leave her the same way papa left them??.
her mother was lying on the bed ,her eyes were closed ,she was asleep ,aleksis walked closer to the bed ,she sat beside her mother and hold her lean hands,ever since she was diagnosed of cancer five years ago her health dwindled drastically ,her mom has always supported her ,she singlehandedly took care of her after her father died in a car accident years back. She wiped her tears with the back of her hands, they were once a happy family but death snatched everything from her *sniff*. maria slowly opened her eyes and looked at her daughter's worried face ,she wished she didn't have to go this way ,aleksis have always been a good girl ,the kindest human being she ever knew ,aleksis cared for other people more than herself, she and her husband protected her with everything they had ,she is a special child
"aleksis "she called weakly
"mum ,how are you feeling? "worry was laced in her voice ,maria smiled she pressed aleksis hands softly "i feel great " and smiled reassuringly
she knew she was not afraid of death but she don't want to leave her daughter ,tears threatened to fall from her eyes ,no,she can't cry ,this is not the time to cry ,she blinked her tears away .maybe this is the time to tell the young girl about the secret she and her husband held deeply in their heart ,she knew she can't take the secret to her grave ,the girl have all the right to know about her birth circumstances
"baby ,mum have something she must tell you" she watched aleksis face closely as she spoke
the girl nodded gently
maria took a deep breathe ,here goes nothing .
"baby ,your father and i will always love you matter where we are ,you know you are a unique child right?" aleksis nodded positively ,she was wondering why her mother is saying such emotional things
" I married your father when I was a young girl,we loved each other ,your father was a nice man " her eyes twinkled as she talk about her late husband "after we got married we couldn't conceive a child ,your father tried everything ,he stood by me through thick and thin .then one day luck shined on us ....

"HI" maria turned and saw a man smiling gently at her ,he had beautiful features,his blue eyes was enchanting and his dimples buried deep in his cheek ,his blond hair was tied in a messy bun but that only highlighted his sinful beauty ,he was wearing a black long sleeved shirt and fashionable jeans with white sneakers .she have never come across any man as handsome as this young stranger
"hello ??" he called again looking at her with a confused face " huh" she was dumbfounded
"why are you looking at me like I am some sort of sweet meal " he smirked at her
maria felt her ear becoming hot,she shyly looked down at her feet
she heard him chuckled " you look like a lobster with your red face" he laughed at her ,why is he teasing her?? she complained inwardly
she took a step away from him ,she do not know him nor have she see his face anywhere in the village
she was born and brought up in this village ,she knew all the villagers by name since the village does not accept visitors without showing them to the whole village ,it has become a norm in this part of Country Q for the people not to welcome strangers in their home ,all the people of the village have been told the story of a woman who was dehumanized in her home years back by some unknown men it was later known that those men who did the deed were the tourists who came to visit the village ,it scared the shit out of the villagers and they vowed never to entertain visitors
maria was among the children whose parents sang the tales of avoiding strangers at all cost
the young man sensed that she was at unease with him after all he grew up in the village before going abroad so he knew why she was scared of him
sigh * " I am not here to hurt you stop giving me that weird face,damn"she frowned at me
"I am Xander Flaubert "he introduced "I just can't find my way home "he looked around him before scratching his not itchy head " it has been a while since I last visited my parents ,So, I think I am lost " he smiled awkwardly
Xander watched as the girl squeezed her face
maybe she was trying to take in his word
"Ohh, are you really Mr Flaubert son ??" a cute little girl asked as she looked up at him at his face
he nodded "now, I see !! you do look like Mr Flaubert on a more closer look "she circled him as if checking him out before standing in front of maria " maria??, he has blue eyes like Mr Flaubert and he is handsome too "she glanced back at Xander "do you mind if I show him the way ?? he looks like a lost puppy "she asked maria

" I am so sorry ,Ferrara is just a child yunno " maria threw ferrera a sharp look
Xander smiled and he bend down so that he will be on the same height with Ferrara " your name is Ferrara right ??" he asked
the little girl stood akimbo narrowing her eyes at Xander " obviously " she answered with a roll of her eyes
"OK,how old are you " he tried initiating a conversation with the little devil
" I am five years old " she hesitated before answering

he flashed her a warm smile but what she said next shock the shit out of him
"uncle I know you are cute and all that but too bad I have a crush who is more cuter "she grudgingly answered and walked ahead

"Mr Xander ??" maria called
he faced her with a frown "Ferrara can be quite rude and sassy but trust me she is a very good child" she explained
" I understand " he answered
she took him home ,he thanked her but ignored Ferrara who was just playing with his mother

Xender watched as maria walked out ,she is beautiful ,her brown eyes looked innocent he could get lost in it .
"are you thinking about maria??" his sister annoying voice echoed in his head
" shut up " he mumbled before he walked away
