My sister had texted us earlier today to ask if we should tell the family secret to my wife and Julie's fiancé. Kevin wasn't a permanent member of the family yet, since they weren't married, but he was a great guy and I knew that they were going to be married soon. And my wife, Rachel, had been part of the family for a few years now. I knew that she was a kind and loving person. And I just knew that she was going to accept Ocean for who and what he really was.
We agreed that we weren't going to make a big deal out of this. There wasn't going to be a big dinner and show about it like there had been when Ocean had told his biological father what he was. He had been nervous and didn't know how the man would take it. I mean, he had only been a part of Ocean's life for a month or so at the time. He accepted him though, and we were all happy about that.
