Makai and I walked slowly up the stairs hand in hand. He was offering me the moral support that I needed right now. I had gotten my father to know and accept what I was, but that wasn't the biggest bombshell that I had for him tonight. There was more, much more. And it was nerve wracking to think about what was going to happen next. I needed to think. I needed to process all of this. And I needed to make sure that I didn't lose his trust with this next part.
