I followed Makai and Hudson into the kitchen. I wasn't lying about watching them cook. Not to mention it would be a great time to talk. We could keep learning things about each other while the two of them made lunch for us.
The two of them started to pull practically everything out of the fridge and make plans for the different ingredients. And at the same time, my phone started to ring. When I looked at the screen, I saw that it was my mom.
"Hey Mom, what's up?" I said as I continued to watch the Makai and Hudson cooking show.
"Nothing much, sweetheart. I wanted to see how you were feeling. I know you were tired yesterday, so I wanted to make sure that you were doing OK and that you got enough rest last night."
"Yeah, I am good now. I slept a lot and woke up feeling refreshed."
"Hey, Makai, do you mind if I use these steaks?" Hudson called out as he started his preparations.
