I had had this mind reading or memory scanning done to me before. Whatever it was that Doc, or anyone else wanted to call it, I had experienced it in the past. At that time, Doc had actually entered my mind himself. He didn't stay there fully aware of what was going on around him. He was just as hypnotized as I was at the time. And I guess that until this very moment I never really understood what sort of trust he was putting in me and our surroundings at that time.
Doc, when he was in my mind, had been vulnerable and open to attack. That was why he didn't want to do that now. He didn't want to be a liability to us. He was here to keep me and Makai safe. And to do that, he needed to stay aware at all times. I guess this was the first time that I ever truly realized that he thought that way. And it was the first time that I truly understood how kind and supportive he was of me and my family.
