OK, so this was going to be the first year that I got to throw a party for my Ocean's birthday. Last year, when he turned eighteen, that had been right when we started to date. It had been when we took the first 'big step' in our relationship. And the day after that was when we first slept together. It had been a really major time for us.
However, I didn't get to plan anything for that birthday party. I barely knew about it in advance. And, at the time, I even felt like I wouldn't have known if it weren't for his mom. Now though, just a year later, we are living together and married. It was like every single thing in our lives was now perfect. I couldn't have been happier.
