OK, so Makai had made me start to settle down a little. I wasn't being as anal about needing to get better now. I mean, Makai, myself, Ben and Ryan were the top four guys on the team. And by a lot at that.
Then again, there was still the chance that there were going to be people that were still faster than us at the competition. There was no guarantee that we were going to win and that had been what was bothering me.
Ben, Ryan and Makai all told me that if we didn't win, it wasn't going to be the end of the world. And I knew that. I really did. I just wanted to win. I wanted to be the best. I wanted to make Makai proud of me. And I thought it would be really nice to end high school on such a positive note.
Well, no matter what happened at the next practice, and at the competition, I knew that I would live. I knew that I would be able to survive and that was all that mattered to me.
