Ocean and I made sure that everything in the house that indicated us being in a relationship was hidden. There were none of the pictures that I had printed out with the two of us together. There were no items with his name on it. And his personal items in our room had been hidden. I knew that this was for the best, but I hated having to lie and hide like this. It wasn't good for us or the trust that our friends had in us. I longed for the days that we could be out in the open.
At least we were still wearing our rings on those chains. I knew that he would never take them off unless it was for swimming. He loved that ring as much as I did, and since I gave it to him last weekend, I had seen him reach up and grab it like it was a good luck charm or something. That made me smile every time that I saw it.
