As always, whenever the holiday season comes, I tend to hole myself up in my lab, not really letting anyone in. It's not like I dislike Christmas, it's just a rather puzzling holiday to me. We are supposed to celebrate the birthday of a man, that may or may not have even existed, at a time, that has nothing to do with his actual historical birthday, and to top it off, that's not even how our current society works.
For starters, Christmas was originally a pagan tradition, centering around either the winter solstice, or some other gods, and giving presents to each other. Whether you call this time Yule, or Saturnalia, it really doesn't matter, people just made a celebration of how the Sun is the closest to Earth at that point. As for how you celebrate it, it really doesn't matter. What you're celebrating, is way more important in both cases.
