Jace POV
Ever since i was a kid my father has been very strict especially when it comes to my studies. Our family holds the most famous hospital not just in this country but also internationally, my mother died when i was 5 years old when i became 10 my father decided to let me transfer in the country side.
"Welcome young master." As i enter the house all of them greeted me with a smile. But it still felt lonely like something was missing.
"Master, sorry to interrupt you but these are all of your things to use for your first day of school." -Maid
"Thank you." - Jace
*Time Skip*
"Everyone pls sit down, today you will have a new classmate pls introduce yourself." -Teacher.
"Hello, my name is Jace Lorenz." I bow down.
"Just that?" Classmate 1
"Okay jace, sit over there beside owen." I nodded as response and sat down beside this kid.
"H-hello i'm owen nc to meet you." And I nodded as a response to him.
"Uhm..hope we can be friends ah you can have this." He then put an apple on top of my desk.
"My mom picked those for me but its too many for me to eat so."-Owen
"Thanks I guess?" -Jace
It was time for recess I was about to go to the school cafeteria when few kids started to gather around owen.
"Hey Dirt bag! What's your launch for today?" Bully 1
"Sw- sweet potatoes?" A kid with a cap started to get his lunchbox and checked inside of it.
"Do you even call this food? You always eat sweet potatoes and nothing else." I started to walk towards them.
"What are you doing?" -Jace
"Hey New kid! Stop bothering us and get lost!" Bully 2
"What if i don't want to?" I glared at them.
"This is not fun anymore, come on let's go!" After that they started to flee away.
"Are you okay?" I asked him.
"Woah, you scared them off you were the first person to do that to them, thank you i'm forever in your debt." Owen said with a grin on his face. He looks like a rabbit.
"Why didn't you defend yourself?" - Jace
"Because my mama said i shouldn't hurt people even if they're doing something bad to me." - Owen.
"What if they hurt you badly? How can you defend yourself from them?" -Jace
"I won't fight back, because if they did hurt me that means they've experience violence from other people too." This guy doesn't even know how to fight back. What will happen to his life. Just be a punching bag?
I hit him in the head. "Stupid!" And we laughed each other at the same time. Owen became my first friend even in the city I didn't have any friends, since all I did was study and read books. Days passed by and we were partners in crime.
"Hey Owen! Look a beetle!" I showed him the beetle.
"Ahh!" He shouted.
"Why are you holding that! It might bite or pinch you or poison you or something." He look spook all of a sudden.
"Why? Are you scared? Did you know it releases toxins that can kill people like you." I started teasing him to scared him off a little. He started shouting again and started running away , so I chased him we play and explore all day long. We were very tired so we tried to rest for a bit under a tree full of grass.
" Hey jace you said that you once lived in the city right?" Owen suddenly ask me.
"Yeah, what about it?" I replied.
"What does it look like?" He leans towards my face with excitement in his face.
"Well it has many tall buildings and of course pollution-"
"No! Not that what i mean is...does it have many lights?"
"Yeah, at night you can see it lots of them."
"I wish i can go to the city, maybe when i'm older and start working or go to college there maybe i can see those lights." He said with a smile on his face. We started walking home when a car suddenly stops in front of us and the windows started to go down.
"Young master, where have you been? We were worried about you." It's just my butler.
" Owen let me take you home." -Jace
"It's alright my house is near don't worry. See you tomorrow!" And then he started walking away to go home.
*Next Day*
"I heard you were on top of the class." Father visited me today he still talks about academic performance. I never show any emotion whenever i am in front of him.
"How are you doing father?" - Jace
"I want you to go to the states tomorrow." Father said with a cold tone.
"How about my school here?"
"I already inform your teacher, and your things are already packed up you don't have to worry about a thing anymore."
"But, what about my friend?" Father slams the table in front of him.
"You don't need friends to succeed jace, just focus on your goal, you may leave now."
When my mother died everything changed especially my father. No one not even my father told me how my mother died. I'm lying down on my bed to get ready for sleep after i finish this book i'm reading.
"Psst!" Huh? who's that?
"Hey! I'm outside the window balcony hehe!" Is that owen's voice? I stand up and walk towards the balcony and suddenly i saw owen outside.
"What are you doing here?"
"I want to show you something."
*After many minutes of walking*
Owen's POV
"We've finally arrived at our destination!" As i pulled jace up the hill i was getting so excited to see the stars.
"Why are we here?" -jace
"I want to show you something so may I cover your eyes?" I asked him nicely and smile so i started covering his eyes and guided him towards where we should go.
"I hope you would enjoy this moment." As soon as i started to take my hands off his eyes his reaction is everything.
"I knew you would like it, when my father was still alive back then when he goes home from work we always hike up this hill just to see these stars from the sky up above. When i feel lonely i come up here more often, but now you're here i would like to share to you my happy place so might as well enjoy the view." Coming up here brings back memories and i want to create a memory of him and me at this very place.
"Owen i'm sorry for your loss, and thank you for bringing me here." He said while gazing upon the stars.
And i never knew that it was the very last moment that we will see each other...
