Before we know it, guards quickly surround us moving us away from the gathered site, we pass lots of people, the old man, walks infront of us, his hands resting calmly behind his back, completely unfazed by the fact that, just minutes ago he blasted out the ring man's brains right next to me. Aden walks cautiously beside me, glancing at the guards a good couple of times, before he looks down at the ground, not even looking at me.
They drop us of at a large tent, it had long strips of red fabric, with gold patterns around it, very fancy, probably one of the most beautiful tents I've ever seen, back home we used wood, hay and mud, but these fabric made houses were beautiful. Aden wasn't as impressed as I was, he just showed frustration and hate towards it, as if he were longing to rip off the fabric and tare it all up and into smaller parts.
As the old man walks into the tent, the guards follow, they ask us to stay outside a little longer, I look at Aden, and give him a gentle nudge, "Hey, don't worry we will be fine" he doesn't look at me, only again does the frustration show on his face, a guard soon comes back out guiding us in, pointing to us to sit down, we sit, Aden half sits on the seat, as if he's ready to make a run for it, I'm about to talk again, when fabric parts and the old man appears, "So how'd I'd end up with you two", was that a question, I had no idea what to say, so I just sat there, staring at him, there was one question on my mind though, "Why'd you shoot him" I ask, a guard points his gun at me and I flinch back, "You dare speak without being told!!", the old man, slams his hand on the table, "How dare you soilder, threatening my guests in front of me!!"
Guests?...
"Guests?" The guard asks, confused, I look from the both of them in confusion, what does he mean, guests, I thought the reason I was here, was to be a slave, to be forced to work, I'm no guest. The old man stands and takes the guard out side again, they whisper, so I couldn't hear what they were saying, I look at Aden for resurance, but he shakes his head, he's as clueless as I am, they come back in and there is a new look on the guards face, part curiosity and part fear, what was going on?
"Right... sorry about that, I am the master of this part of the camp, and as you are probably wondering, no you are not slaves, you are here for a bigger purpose", he smiles at us but Aden is unconvinced, "what purpose?" He asks, The master sighs, "well magic of course".
What? Magic? We didn't have magic, did we? No!, That couldn't be right, I would know if I had magic or not, like it can't be that easy to hide, I look at Aden he's as puzzled as I, "Um...I'm sorry but I think you have the wrong people, we don't have magic" I say, puzzled. He looks at us confused, "What do you mean, of course you do, then why would you be on the souths carriage, everyone knows that if you come from the souths carriage then you have magic", I look at Aden, he looks angry, "I'm from North!" He shouts, "I have nothing to do with those South tribes!" Harsh, I thought. The master then looks at me, "Well u must do then", he says looking at me, impatience showing in his expression, "Show me what you can do".
Now I'm panicking, what do I do? I don't have magic, "I can't" I say, The master doesn't look convinced and stands up waving over a guard, "Looks like we have to take this outside", a guard comes over to me, grabbing my arm and leading us out of the tent, they take us to a quiet spot, where there are more guards waiting, I don't know what is about to happen, but I don't want to be here, I try and wriggle free, but the guard increases his grip on my arm, hurting me, "Please!" I pleade, but the guard ignores me, and stands me infront of everyone, they soon bring Aden over aswel, "Now child, show us your magic and I won't hurt you or your friend" he takes his gun out aiming it at me, "Your choice!".
