Chapter 51 - Chapter 49

When Marti entered the game, it was as if everything became more colorful as if the real world was fake and the game was the real world.

Here Marti can do whatever he wants without being judged or receiving looks of pity or disgust.

When Marti started playing he didn't care about the game, he just wanted to get away from it all and start over in a place where no one knew him. Despite the short time that he has been in the game, only a couple of months, this can be considered one of the best decisions he has made.

Unlike many other players, Marti did not care about leveling up or getting stronger in the game, he was only interested in enjoying everything the game had to offer, one of the so-called idle players, appropriate considering in which game he is.

In fact, the reason why Marti chose the elven race was not to learn magic or to have an advantage at the same level as the other players, the reason was simply because he seemed like a cool race to him.

Of course, learning magic was also decisive in choosing it. Who would not like to summon fireballs and devastate the battlefield, but seeing what was really necessary to learn magic Marti happily took the bow and went to the field to train.

Studying magic was too much like going back to school, not only that, but magic instructors possessed an impressive amount of control over your destiny in your magic studies, which makes them arrogant and they think they are superior to everyone. Making one angry would cause the situation that Marti suffers every day multiplied by a hundred.

While Marti had a terrible dislike for such people who speak of great ideals and hate you for the slightest of offenses without finding a way to stop them, at the same time he couldn't help but be impressed by the amount of realism the game possesses.

All the cities created by the elves could only be described with one word: beautiful.

However, while the city has a unique beauty not seen before, there is a reason why cities are not like that in reality.

An architecture student analyzed the elvish style of construction and wrote his opinions on it in a post. The bottom line is that creating something like this in real life would not be possible.

The clearest example of this are the magic towers, a place where magicians discover the secrets of magic, the space inside most of the towers is larger than should be possible for such a structure, reaching the point of that only the weight of the objects and people inside would cause it to collapse.

Each building is constructed in such a way that it does not adapt to the laws of physics, even if they could somehow remain standing, at the moment in which you face any weather adversity or the mere passage of time would cause it to collapse.

The reason for this is that in order to have a better aesthetic, its internal stability was sacrificed, which causes that, under normal conditions, the mere fact that there were people inside would be a great risk to the integrity of such works of art.

So how is it possible for all the buildings to stand? The answer is easy: Magic.

Elves are not a magical race because yes, magic is used for almost everything, from building houses to cooking, magic is used in the daily life of every elf.

Although all elves can use magic, most can only light a small fire or make the wind blow, to do better than this it is necessary to learn in the magic towers.

In a place like elven territory where magic is fundamental to daily life, it is normal for magicians to possess power and status beyond that of anyone.

While he was thinking about such things his footsteps never stopped as he walked through the bustling streets of the elven city.

"Hey, Might!!" someone from the crowd said.

Turning around, Marti replied:

"Merc!! How´s going? "

"Well, by the way, the boys are going to help a rich kid train in a cave to level up. Easy Money. Do you want to join?" Merc asked.

Merc is a player who wanted to establish his own group of mercenaries in the game to earn money in the real world, although the value between the virtual currency of the game and the real world is not yet determined and there is no market Merc expects things to change when more people know the game.

Marti or better said Might, is an archer who is dedicated to doing small jobs such as hunting small prey or collecting fruits in the forest.

The two met on the outskirts of the city and immediately connected so Merc invites him to his assignments in the hope that he will officially join the small team.

"Sure"

After talking, Might and Merc left the city streets to work.

...

(I've finally been able to repair the door) Allan thought as he looked up at the starry sky.

Allan breathed a sigh of relief and put his tools down.

Allan's parents left a few hours ago, they didn't even stay overnight, they really just came to see how Allan was doing and to find out if the message they got from the university was true.

Thinking of the conversation he had with his parents Allan couldn't help but remember.

...

"A videogame?" asked his father angrily "Are you really going to throw everything that your mother and I have worked for a video game?"

Allan couldn't say anything. While he thought that what his father said was a bit of an exaggeration, it is true that changing face-to-face classes to virtual classes would be wasting the opportunities that the university gives to get to know students and professors, and to establish connections that could be useful in the future.

"Why" Seeing that Allan didn't say anything, his father couldn't help but ask "Why are you doing this? Is it really worth it?"

Allan was still silent. When his father was going to yell at him again, a voice interrupted him.

"Harold" said Allan's mother "That's enough"

"But Sus-"

"I said enough" Allan's mother said without looking what made his father stop.

"Allan" her mother said, causing her gaze to drift to her.

"Even if you fail, Will you not regret?" His mother asked.

Allan closed his eyes for a moment, thinking seriously about the question. After all success is not guaranteed. If he fail, can he endure it?

When he opened them again he looked and said:

"Do not"

His mother looked very intently into his eyes and said:

"Then do it"

...

Allan couldn't help but feel grateful for the parents who had touched him… Even if they broke the door of his apartment and alerted everyone on the street.

Allan got up and closed the door. Time to get back in the game.

Idle Online.
