"Are you guys the ones who split off from us? Zhen Wuying is that you? I'm so glad we met up again!
-Wait a minute! Did none of your group members die!? That's some bullshit! You left with seven and came back with seven, while we left with ten and only four of us remain. That's so unfair! *Sigh* Thank you for saving us though." He had a frown and shook for a second, before regaining his focus.
Glancing at Chen Huang I thought to myself 'I have a feeling that I know why none of us died, we had a good luck charm.'
He glanced at the immobile man before looking at the other two. His stance steadied while he adjusted his gaze at the leftmost man who he was closest to.
Everyone but the sect remnants made it over to the new group with our weapons already drawn. Zhen Wuying and the two girls who were on the right flank went to the injured man. It was now six versus two.. and a half? Would the man on the ground count as one anymore? Maybe half a man would be too generous as well considering how little mobility he has now.
I only had one hand on my weapon while moving, but when we stopped I gripped it with two hands. Though it seems my left hand hasn't healed yet or something as I couldn't properly grip onto my hilt nor put increase the strength of my grip.
'Shit, is it because the nerves in my hand were cut? It would normally take months to heal, but as a cultivator it should heal faster right? *Sigh* I should have patience and besides I shouldn't only rely on twohanded sword moves. It's a good time to practice one handed swordsmanship.'
"Oh my god my leg! Shit! I'll remember your face you BITCH! Arrrrr! Brothers help me!" He spoke while trying to crawl away. His face was covered in sweat and was twisted from the pain. He showed his teeth as they were clenched together, shutting his eyes for a bit randomly while swearing at Yao Ya in his rapid shallow breaths.
The two behind him did made a move toward him, but something stopped their movements. He only made it around half a meter before something had completely immobilized him. A sword was plunged into the mans last good leg sticking him to the ground as well.
"You think I'd let you leave?" The slightly cold voice of Yao Ya was heard by everyone. It was not too loud, in fact it was quite low yet it was heard by those two who were approaching. They stopped in their tracks, freezing into place while they looked at Yao Ya.
I didn't know what Yao Ya looked like at this moment, but it must of scared them.
"H-Hey brothers! Help me! It's just... Please don't leave me here! I can see the fear in your eyes, but- ARRGH!!!! Arrrrn... Hah hah hah." A sword could be seen sticking out of the man's stomach. With that the man loses his grip on his weapon instead he tries to grip the sword plunged into him.
As everyone pay attention to the dying man on the ground I notice as the swordsman from earlier getting closer and closer to the left most guy. Seeing what might happen I quickly walked to the right side before starting to inch closer and closer to the rightmost guy.
The swordsman on the other side noticed my actions, giving me a small nod. I twisted my hand on my side so that I could quickly send a diagonal upward slash at the man.
'Oh! Maybe I could learn some moves where you attack as soon as you draw your weapon out of the sheath. That'll be cool.'
With a slight gleam from the light talisman to his blade he struck. With both hands gripped onto the hilt he slashed horizontally at the man. He went for center mass, but the man noticed.
"Huh! Wha-"
He tried blocking with his twohanded blade, but it was too heavy and late as he took out the man's left arm as well as creating a large laceration on his side.
As soon as I saw the movement from him I acted as well and swung diagonally upward. The man was right handed though! He noticed, but since his weapon was already close to where I was attacking he only raised it up a bit and blocked it with my blade only ran over his weapon.
*Sssst* The grinding of our weapons against each other lasted not even a second. "Tch, you bastard!"
It wasn't a total failure though as a small laceration appeared on his shoulder. While it was still high I used the momentum generated and swung it down toward his legs. Another small laceration appeared, but so did his single edged one handed blade toward me. Lifting up my weapon I fought back the thought of two handing my sword.
*Clang*
Our blades clashed and a small struggle began which I was quickly losing. Seeing the turning tide I kicked the spot where I lacerated him.
"Argh! Damn you! I-" A blade pierced his chest an inch out before it was taken back out from behind. A hand appeared on his shoulder which only shoved him to the side on the ground. Behind the man Yao Ya stood with her eyes a little widened and eyebrowed a little raised.
"Is everything okay? Why aren't you two handing your weapon anymore?" I could hear a little worry within her voice
"It's fine don't worry and my hand is just still a little hurt from before." I tried reassuring her."
"If you say so."
I took another look at the men the swordsman and I went to kill. The man that lied close to me probably already died from where Yao Ya had pierced him. If he didn't die from that there was still a puddle of blood which grew below him.
The man on the other side definitely died from blood loss though from the pool of blood that surrounded him. The laceration he inflicted had damaged some of his guts and a little bit began spilling out as well.
As we both walked back I saw as the two children approached the group.
"Did you defeat the bad guys?" Hu Tian asked curiously looking over. But it was too late to advert her eyes as she saw the two bodies and their wounds.
She only looked at them for a few seconds before responding. "Good job on taking them down, but who are these other four people. Their clothing is a little similar to all of yours do you come from the same sect?"
The swordsman had went over and kneeled next to her with a little wave "Hello there my name is Teng Bai and we are from the same sect, but had gotten separated when escaping. What's your name?"
She fidgeted a little before answering, "Um, My name is Hu Tian, pleased to meet you."
Teng Bai stood up and spoke to our group yet no one in particular, "So where are you all going?"
Chen Huang responded, "We have an escape route and it's all thanks to little Hu here guiding us and even drawing us a map." Taking out a makeshift map he showed it to the man near him.
"What! You have an escape route? That's amazing, Hu Tian you are really wonderful. I'm so glad we met back up, isn't that right guys?"
"Yeah!"
"Of course!"
"Yup!"
From the responses given by the others he's probably their pseudo leader. I think he was one of the experienced members as well who were leading us when we first came here.
Everyone made a quick introduction before got into a new formation which included the four new members. Their medic girl Cheng Yun and the now armless Duan Jun walked in the middle with me, the children, and the janitorial disciple.
We added Teng Bai the swordsman and Liu Jin the saber man to the sides and evened out the space between each member. Now instead of the hexagon we formed before it now barely resembles a octagon.
As soon as we explained the escape plan they were in, in fact I'm pretty sure the moment we mentioned our escape plan they were in no matter what we might have tried. Our next location to move to was where those men came from though.
If we run into another group of three Idk if we'll be as lucky as earlier to sneak attack them. Even then the only reason we could even attempt that was to they were way to focused on their friend's pain. In fact it was absolutely stupid how close I got to them before they reacted to me.
It was like I was crouching in some game with some 'interesting' stealth mechanics. They didn't notice me at all until I was attacking them from an arm's length away.
