People around me walked in like they had done it dozens of times already. They were fearless walking through at the very least not many people showed a nervous expression openly.
The fellow disciples around me shuffled forward- pushing me along with them towards the portal. As I reached the portal I extended my arm out to touch the portal only for it go though. There was no feeling as it slowly engulfed the rest of my body.
I took one last look at the surroundings near me- minor sects watched us from the sides as our groups gradually disappeared into the gateway. Trees lined the edges of our clearing and a few mountains were in the distance.
The final thing I saw before being fully in the portal was a green-robed minor sect group.
The feeling of going through the portal was interesting- a wave like feeling was felt out throughout my bodies.
*Swoosh*
My vision blurred for a moment before it refocused, my body felt a bit numb and dizzy as I tried to look around the area- the world around was similar to the area where the portal appeared yet the proportions of the clearing were different.
'I have to get used to this. If this happens every time that'll suck. Come on power through it!'
Before I could fully examine my surroundings I was pulled along, someone grabbed my right arm.
Of course it was Yao Ya, she gave a gentle smile as she pulled me towards the rest of the group. I had to lean onto her for support since the feeling from earlier hadn't subsided yet. She seemed to notice my distress, instead of the normal hugging of my arm she lifted it over her shoulders and placed it around her neck like I was injured.
"Ip Cheng! Are you okay?"
"Ye-yeah.. I'm.. just a little disorientated that's all."
"Okay, if you say so.." Finishing that she moved me over to the rest of the group nearby.
"Alright, everyone's here let's get going!" The man from earlier spoke when seeing me arrive, he spun around and starting moving into the nearby forest.
"So Brother Ip, was that your first time going through one of them?" Chen Huang came to my other side and asked, spooking me a bit. He had a slight smile on his face as he said so.
"Ugh- Was that not your first as well?" Asking with a slightly inquisitive tone.
'Why am I the only one like this? Shouldn't everyone else also feel this?'
"Well, we had practice going through portals, so we were prepared. I wondered where you were when we did those."
"Are you serious? Why didn't I know?.. *Sigh* Well that would have been useful."
"Hehe." He tried stifling his laughter a bit, but I still heard it.
'Ugh, Why am I still like this? How much longer will this last? Better end soon, else how am I supposed to help out?'
I was being carried along over the shoulder of Yao Ya while we moved through the forest. I couldn't tell how long it had been since we entered the portal. All I could worry about was the dizziness and slight numbness that spread throughout my once I reached this side of the portal.
At least I didn't feel the urge to vomit, that would have been terrible. It seem like our movement through the forest didn't really help negate the dizziness nor the numbness though. Instead it even worsen them or at least it felt like it did.
I started relying on Yao Ya more and more as time went on. She held me with one arm around my back holding my waist from the side farthest from her. Her other arm keeping my arm she placed around her neck there by grasping my wrist.
"Are you sure you are okay? How about this, I'll take care of you until you're better. Does that sound alright?"
"Okay.."
I was stumbling about as the three of us trailed behind the scattered line of people.
After an unknown amount of time to me we eventually stopped in another clearing. It was tiny compared to the one where we entered, yet perfect for our group of twenty.
"This should be far enough away from the others let's reorganize ourselves. We have a few people who are still nauseous from the portal after all. We'll continue once they recover." Although I didn't look up I had no doubt that the voice belonged to the man who spoke the previous times.
'So there are others? Thank god, I really didn't want to be the only one who held the rest of the group back.'
Yao Ya brought me over to a nearby tree and carefully set me down. Just sitting down was a relief as the effects were wearing off a bit. I could start to focus on other things again now.
I was still a little dazed, but I wanted to look around to see if anything had changed from the other world to this one.
Tall green trees surrounded us as our group was scattered around the small clearing. Nothing out of the ordinary was around. The ground plenty of foliage and I saw small animals around the area running around in the background. The small creatures seemed normal at least with the single glance I received from it.
After some small amount of time my body seemed to return to normal as if that weird portal didn't do anything to me at all. Getting up Yao Ya just appear from somewhere grasping onto my right arm like always. At this time our leader seemed to come back from some direction and looked around.
"Everyone looks like they've recovered, come on I found a structure nearby maybe it has some treasures or something. We might be able to find a fierce beast to fight and gather it's rare materials." Pointing behind him with his thumb.
'Oh nice we already found something, that's a good start to this journey!'
While our group trailed behind him I looked around the forest hoping to find something worthwhile or anything that might only belong to this realm. I remembered what that elder said and wished to see something of the sort.
The trees of the forest got thinner and thinner as we followed him eventually we were in front of a ruin of some sort. The entrance once had a door, now it lied in pieces sprawled across the ground. The building was built into a mountain but seemed small.
Peering through the doorway a short corridor was seen that went through the mountain with a couple doors on either side and at the end a staircase leading deeper into the mountain was seen.
Before the corridor was a mid sized room that was the exterior of the building. The room had a few benches and some defensive barricade looking structures around the room.
Around seven people walked forward into the structure as the rest including Yao Ya, Chen Huang, and I looked into the building that seemed like it had a struggle defending against something. Those seven didn't seem to mind the destruction heading in like nothing was wrong.
"Are you all coming or not?" A voice of one those who went in came out.
The rest of us hearing the call started moving in.
We crowded into the room and some started to examine the area.
"The-There's blood here!" A man shouted point at a corner. Causing a commotion the rest of the group went over as well to see the stain.
"Stop yelling! Some realms are just like this so get over it! Besides it's probably old, just go find treasures and shut up!" A woman shouted back at him.
As they yelled at each other I took a look around as well. As the man had said there were blood stains around the area, yet the area didn't look like it had been an extremely long time ago. In fact there wasn't much dust in the area at all.
The group gathered around the blood stain the man pointed our earlier, on the other side of the room I also looked at a corner. There was a stone barricade that went up to my waist with a corner missing that enclosed a corner.
Behind the barricade I saw a body of a man slumped up against the barricade.
