Chapter 31 - Noodles

*Multiple POVs*

(Yao Ya POV)

It's already been a week since I first met that arachnid woman. She doesn't seem to ever leave his side for anything. I had already asked some of the elders including my teacher about her, most of the lower level elders knew nothing, but my teacher did with a slightly surprised expression when I asked her about it.

She might be a Man-Faced Spider, my teacher said that they are a very high level intelligent monster species. They would normally never come so far since the people here aren't 'tasty' enough for them or something like that. When I heard that they might eat people I immediately started rushing over to his room. My teacher's room was around an eighth of the way from the top of the mountain so it would take quite a while for me to reach the outer court disciple living quarters that were towards the base of the mountain.

I need to somehow get rid of her, she might try to eat him! Is there anyway for me to separate them? Maybe there is something in his room that I can find to use against her. Maybe I can make it in time, but she's already been living with him in the same room for a little over a week. Every minute counts now even if I've let her be with him for so long, now that I know her true reasoning doing it even another 10 seconds is too long!

While I was running down the steps numerous amounts of other nearby disciples turned their heads towards me probably wondering where I was going in such a rush and a few even tried to follow me. I out ran most of them but one persisted quite a while and even caught up to me.

"Where are you going in such a rush Junior Sister Yao? Do you mind if I come along to assist you?"

"Go away! I don't need your help!"

"Come now, why don't you ever interact with us? You'll join us in just a little over two and a half weeks, why not make a few connections before you do so?"

"Stop getting in my way! I have something important to do!"

*Sigh* "Alright then, see you soon, Junior Sister Yao."

A couple minutes later I finally made it in front of the house he is staying at. Entering the house and quickly shutting the door behind me I take a few swift steps making it to his room's door.

Maybe I'm just over reacting. She hasn't done anything to him yet. Maybe she is a good spider. I should of listened to the rest of the explanation before I came here.

As I turned around and was about to leave I heard noises coming from the door, curious about it I listened in.

"♥Mmm.. This taste soo Gooood! Fufufu~ ♥"

'Wha-What! No! Maybe it's just some kind of normal food that was really good. Wait where is his voice why can't I hear him?!'

"I wonder what that girl Yao Ya would have think if she saw this? There is still so much left I bet that I could finish all of this."

I felt blood drain from my face as I thought of all the horrible situations that could be happening on the other side of this door. I can't take this anymore, she is evil! I can't let this go on any longer!

Unsheathing my low-grade earth sword I bust down the door to see a completely unexpected scene in front of me. My thoughts might have influenced me a bit too much about what I expected to see.

"I'm hungry!"

"Wake up!"

"Come on make me fooood!"

A few soft jabs and pokes came at me while I was lying down which awoke me.

"H-Huh wha- AHH!"

That time her jab was not as soft as before.

"Oh! You're awake, come! Make me food! I'm starving!"

"Argh.. Why'd you.. do that?" I felt the pain as it radiated from the right side of my abdomen.

"Well You didn't wake up the first time I did it, so I did this and it worked!"

"I don't even own any cooking supplies how am I supposed to make anything for you to eat?"

"Don't worry I got you covered! Ta-da!" Stepping to the side she revealed a pile of ingredients along with a few utensils, pots and pans, and a.. integrated fireplace along the wall?

'Did she build that fireplace? How is that possible without waking me up? And in a single night no less. Well, I guess I could try cooking something. I'm pretty hungry as well from last night. Trying to breakthrough is a lot harder than I thought.'

Looking through the ingredients I just decided to make something simple. Taking a few batches of noodles, some kind of meat, and some of the vegetables I was just going to make some stir-fry.

While I was getting all the ingredients ready Li Lian just sat there quietly on on my bed watching me as I prepared food, a slight smile on her face. When I finished boiling the noodles I felt a shadow loom over me as I was starting to prepare the meat.

I turned my head to see what it was, even though I had a feeling I already knew. A hand caught my cheek before it could even turn over to my shoulder and pushed it back forward towards the pots and pans in front of me.

"Focus on your work. Don't get distracted, ok?" As She said that I could feel her hands running through my back eventually curving around to my front before stopping and turning it into a hug.

Finishing up the meat it was finally time for the vegetables where I added back the rest of the prepared ingredients to the dish and stirred it up before plating it and giving it to Li Lian. She had been eyeing the food up ever since I combined all of the ingredients together and started mixing it into each other. She hastily grabbed the plate outta my hands and started eating. While she did that I also got myself a plate of it to try.

"Whoa, I didn't know you could actually cook!" Stuffing her face in it

"What made you think I couldn't?"

"Well, Um.. it's nothing!"

"♥Mmm.. This taste soo Gooood! Fufufu~ ♥"

It is actually really good. I guess all those years of learning to cook by myself paid off.

"I wonder what that girl Yao Ya would have think if she saw this? There is still so much left I bet that I could finish all of this."

*BOOM*

My door exploded into pieces a few chunks almost hitting me and as the dust settled a familiar figure was standing on the other side of the doorway. My eyes widened as the suddenness of it confused me with noodles still in my mouth.

Gulping down what I had in my mouth I spoke to the figure standing at the door.

"Yao Ya? What are you doing? Why did you destroy my door and why are you holding that sword?"

She was just standing there at this point, her sword was pointed down as her cheeks were blushing and she also had wide eyes for some reason.

"I.. Well.. Um... uh-" Poking her fingers together she looked down in embarrassment she couldn't seem to be able to come up with an excuse

"Do.. you want some stir-fry? There's plenty more if you want some." Extending my hand holding the plate towards her

"Re-Really?" Her head slowly raised towards me

"Yea, sure go ahead and have some."

She put away her sword and walked towards me. I thought she would just grab one of the plates we haven't used yet, but she took the one outta my hand along with my chopsticks.

"He-Hey, I already put that in my mouth."

"♥Mmm.. She's right it's so yummy!♥"

'I guess I just get another then.'

When I looked at the Wok containing the rest of the stir-fry it was empty.

'Huh, Wait.'

Li Lian sat there with an empty plate in front of her and a wide smile along her face looking at me.

"Did you eat all of it?"

"...Maybe?"
