"Man, I can't wait to go and begin this trip next month. You want to come with me, Kenny? I know you haven't really experienced that country since you've been born here in the Federation of Manifest" I asked my best friend while searching for an apartment online.
"Nah, Ethan I don't think I want to go, at least not right now." Said a oriental man with short black hair and eyes. When I looked at him the sun from a nearby window shone and reflected from his glasses.
He was peering at his phone and from time to time bits of audio rang out along with a few chuckles. His thumb moving in an up and down motion as he scrolled through some media.
I met him after around a month or so after coming to this country when my mother and his mother met while working at the same place. They got along well as they were both from the same country and we were introduced to each other a few days later. We've been friends ever since.
"Well, I've already told my parents about my trip and I'm leaving in around a month so if you want to come with me you better decide quickly. Well, even if you don't end up coming I'll bring you back a gift." I said with a smile as kept browsing websites for a place to stay.
"Ah, thanks man. You mind if I sleep over here? It's getting pretty late for me to drive back."
"Yea, sure go ahead the couch is all yours."
Eventually I found a really nice website with a perfect place. The price range wasn't high enough to make me feel broke if I went over nor low enough to feel like a scam. Besides the price, the website seemed to be calling me over, like someone had perfectly created this offer for me.
I didn't want to give up such a good place so I immediately booked it for when I would arrive.

Waking up I discovered he had already left. 'Well he's quick didn't even stay for breakfast.' Glancing at the couch I discovered a note along with a small trinket he left behind.
*Take this on your journey over and don't forget about me.* Inspecting the trinket he left behind it was a small plastic purple potato. 'huh, well that is certainly an interesting item to leave behind.' Picking up the item, I slip it into my suitcase as one of the first items I'm bringing.
