Chapter 2 - A village?

As Mark opened his eyes, he felt a heavyweight on his chest. Looking around all he saw was grassland. When he tried to get up, he couldn't, something was holding him down. Looking down to see what was causing the weight, all he saw was blue.

Using a little strength he sat up and moved the weight. As he looked at it, he saw that it was rhythmically moving up and down. It was a bluish-gray with black spots, And a long snout and tail.

'A shadow wolf? Weren't they hunted to extinction on tuxin?' Mark thought. He put his hand on the wolf and began to pat it on its head.

'Since that is the case, I must be on a different continent. Though that is to be expected.' Mark thought with a smile. ' Seems the Spell did its job. Although I didn't expect to be beaten that quickly.'

Mark then reached his hands under the wolf and slowly picked it up, and moving it off of him without waking it up 'so, it's a boy.'

As Mark got up he looked around the grassland and spotted a small village to the north, around 5 kilometers away.

Deciding to head over there, Mark began to walk.

2 hours later, mark arrived at the village and walked up to the 'Gate', which in reality was just two men sitting on chairs. The men spotted him and immediately grabbed the spears next to them and pointed them at Mark.

"A Lich!" The man on the right yelled. " Jhon Alert the Cheif, I'll Stall!" the man said with conviction.

"I'm Not a lich. I'm a half skeleton." Mark said calmly as if nothing really mattered.

"Lich, or not Your still undead."

"I'm half undead. Also, do you know which continent we are currently on?" Mark asked.

"We are on lamton, Yound Graveborn." An old voice sounded from the left of Mark. As Mark looked over he saw an old man with a cane and a smile on his face.

"Hmmm, So you know of my race? No matter, Thank you for telling me." Mark smiled. But his smile creeped everyone out.

"hahaha No problem, come inside you must be Tired, well at least your living side." The old man said as he turned around.

Mark began to follow the old man through the gate. As he entered the village he was somewhat surprised. It was clean, unlike the poor villages on Tuxin, the streets here were devoid of trash, or grime.

The old man seemed to notice his surprise as he said.

"Clean huh? The lord of the lands Created a mandatory beauty order. 'My lands should be spotless. and beautiful For my name is Dan' he said" The old man continued to smile, but mark noticed a cold glint in his eyes before it disappeared forever.

"Dan? What a boring name." Mark said as his normal disinterested expression reappeared

"Agreed, it is quite average. Especially if you remember that all the other nobles have fancy names like 'Markus Van Vyne' The local Duke." The old man chuckled.

"Though to be fair, i also have a pretty boring name ' Mark " Mark cracked a slight smile. He likes this old man already. " Boring? yes. Dignified? Absolutley. But still boring in the end."

"Hmmmmm, I actually think it's the opposite. Mark is quite the kingly name if I'm being honest." The old man said before he entered deep into thought.

Mark, seeing this decided to not disturb him and began to look around the village. He saw houses and shacks mainly made of wood, at most only 2 stories tall. Every once in a while he would see a person, but as they saw him they got scared and ran away. mark was used to this so he paid it no mind.

In the middle of the medium-sized village, there was a Stone Building that was 2 stories tall. It had a banner on its entrance that depicted a pickaxe and a shield.

"What's that banner?" Mark asked curiously.

"That? That's the Crest of the Count. The pickaxe is because he mainly deals in Mining and selling coal and iron. The Sheild because he is the only noble in the kingdom to have a fortress as his house." The old man answered, he'd snapped out of thought a while ago.

"makes sense, though where I'm from having a fortress as a home isn't rare. actually most nobles do, or well did" mark said, his voice getting lower at the end.

The old man noticing this changed topic. "So, You're a Graveborn, But I haven't seen a skeletal Graveborn before." The old man said while turning to look at Mark, but still walking but backward

"Yes, We are quite rare, much rarer than any other undead." Mark replied with Pride. He was proud he was a skeletal Graveborn, They were powerful, smart and most importantly, still had their emotions.
