As soon as the policeman left Alex's room, Dunnia tried to enter, but Camilla wouldn't let him this time. She was faster and gave her mother-in-law a slight shove with her shoulder. Dunnia stood, shocked, at the girl's boldness. Her face began to redden with anger and Gerald chuckled inwardly.
"Oh, love, finally!" Alex said and held out his arms as far as he could, due to the wound in his back that still hurt.
"How are you feeling?" she asked, going to his side and kissing him warmly.
Dunnia, who was entering the room, rolled her eyes, irritated by the scene.
"If you don't like what you see, you can leave." Alex said. He wasn't even interested in having his mother around. Since her behavior in the registry office on his wedding day, he decided that he would only interact with her again when she apologized to Camilla.
"No need to be rude to me, Alex." Dunnia complained. "Much less to defend people below me."
