Arkas was walking down the school corridor towards the exit, when he was feeling something warm behind his back. Turning around he saw a small fireball heading his way. He had no time to dodge the fireball. All he could do was covering his upper body with his arms. As his arms catched fire, Arkas immediately started to undress.
While he was undressing he heard several footsteps coming his way. A crowd of students started to form around Arkas
"Hahahaha! Look at that trash he can't do shit against a level 2 Fireball!" one of the students said.
"How can someone so handsome be such aa trashy level 1" said a female student.
"Isn't that obvious, he has a ability that makes him look like that" a chubby male student said.
As Arkas got rid of his burning hoodie, it revealed his chiseled abs and caused the male students in the crowd to glare at him with hatred and envy. The females stared at with flushed cheeks, some even drooling.
Arkas stood up, he picked up his now burned hoodie off the ground while ignoring the people around him and continued walking towards the exit.
He gets bullied and beaten up all the time, so getting hit by a spell from time to time is nothing out of the ordinary for him.
As he walked across the hallway of Adel Academy a school for 14 to 16 year olds that prepare the students to go to a military school. In this day and age humans that turn 16 have to attend a military school for two years. After two years in military school they can decide to join the military, become an adventurer or doing a normal job. This law of attending a military school was created to gain more soldieres for the military in case another war starts.
When the human race first discovered other races in space they where shocked by what they saw. The aliens in space looked exactly like the mythical creautures in old books and movies. Elves, dwarfes, chimeras, goblins and much more. The humans found many portals in different parts on planet Earth. Those portals appeart out of thin air and connect planet earth with other planets where other races live. The humans managed to create a friendly relationship with some of the intelligant races like the elves and the dwarfes. After years of coexisting and trading knowledge with other, humans that where born after the discovery of the portals and the other races, started to gain magical powers. As time passed a war started between the humans and the other races and 70% of humanity got annihilated in the process. The war lasted 20 years and indestructible barriers where set up around the portals to keep other races from invading planet earth.
Arkas left the school and arrived in front of a two story mansion in the outer area of the city. He looked at the entrance of the mansion and took a deep breath before walking towards the door. As he reached the door, the door opened from the inside and a middle aged with black hair and blue eyes walked out of the mansion. He had a sqaure shaped face and stood around 6 feet tall.
He glanced at the teen in front of him with disgust before ignoring him and walking past him. This man was Frank Bloodborn, the adoptive father of Arkas.
Arkas looked at him for a second before he walked through the door. As he entered the mansion and walked through the passage, he walked passed a few maids that glance at him a couple of times with flushed cheeks. The teen arrived at his destination an stood in front of a white door.
He entered the room. The room was tiny compared to other rooms in the mansion. The room only had three things. A bed, a small closet and a mirror. The walls where made of wood. This was the only room that had walls that where made of wood, the other rooms in the mansion where made of concrete. The walls had a few fist sized holes in them, that Arkas made while letting his anger out.
As he walked towards his bed and lay down. He started to recall everything that happened in his life.
Arkas was an orphan, he didn't knew his real parents and his birthplace. The newborn arkas was found in front of the doorsteps of an orphanage. After the orphanage took Arkas and raised him till he was adopted. He got adopted by the Bloodborn family at the age of ten. They adopted him because of his extraordinary looks and hoped he would awaken a powerful ability that would boost the reputation of their family. After adopting him and treating with care and love for one year, they found out that, he is unable to awaken any ability. Arkas body does have the right genetics like a human with an ability, but Arkas can't do a thing related to magic. The magical energy around Arkas doesn't react to him. If someone tried to sense Arkas, they wouldn't be able to because the magical energy around him flows like usual as if there is no one there.
After the Bloodborn family found out about Arkas inability to have a ability. They immediately searched for ways to get rid of Arkas. They couldn't allow someone without any ability to be part of the Bloodborn family. The Bloodborn family was a family that played a rather big part in the last war. Having a child with no ability would worsen the reputation of the family. After searching for ways to get rid of Arkas, they couldn't find any. That's because of the adoption contract they signed. The Bloodborn family had to take care of Arkas until he reaches the the age of 16 and attends a military school.
The Bloodborn family consist of Frank Bloodborn and his wife Eva. The reason why they wanted to adopt someone was because the Bloodborn couple has four daughters. After every pregnancy it turned out to be a girl. Frank couldn't bear it any more and started to search for a boy to adopt into the family and eventually found Arkas.
Arkas was lying on the bed with his eyes closed.
'What am I doing with my shitty life. I can't even have a power but I still have to attend a military school. That's bullshit!' Arkas thought.
'I turn 16 tomorrow and I also have to leave this place to go to a military school. That's like a death sentence' Thinking about how hard military school is. Arkas started to estimate how long he would survive.
'Maybe a couple a weeks, if i could hide the fact that I doesn't have an ability. Or people start to bully me because of appearance and kill me in the process.' He thought as he let out a deep sigh.
'I should stop thinking about such things and get some sleep' Arkas thought.
He fell asleep and time went on.
It was 12 PM and Arkas turned 16.
Ten seconds passed and Arkas hole body started to glow in a golden light. Another ten seconds passed and all the golden light gathered on both of his arms and his back. The light vanished and this hole process happened without waking Arkas up.
Arkas slept till 6 AM. As he opened his eyes, he felt his arms and his back burning but not in a painful way. That was not the only different thing after he woke up.
He saw a golden screen with a message floating in front of his eyes.
