The atmosphere in the room became so thick. It was as if Xue could not breathe. She had a feeling that what Ren was about to say would break her, but she asked him again; "What do you think we should do if we do not get to see a marriage counselor?" Her heart was racing as she wasn't sure that she wanted to hear what Ren had to say.
"We should take some time apart from each other. It doesn't seem like we are on the same page anymore"
Xue glared at Ren. She had not expected to hear what he had just said. What was he talking about? What did 'time apart from each other' mean?. A burst of laughter escaped her mouth. She laughed so hard that tears were beginning to come out of her eyes. Ren must be joking. They had made their vows. Even before they had gotten married, Ren had told her that he was not the kind of man that would leave his marriage -- he had told her that nothing in the world would come between them. However, what was happening now?
