Ren sneered at Su Na and imagined himself pulling her out of the restaurant hall. There had been music playing in the background but everyone around where they stood had heard the scream that Su had let out. Ren looked around and he felt embarrassed that such a person was in his daughter's gathering. He wondered what Mao Yong would think about what was happening--that is if she had heard the shriek too. He was chagrined.
Xue grabbed Su and tried to cover her mouth in a bid to muffle the screams that were coming out of her friend's mouth. "Breathe, Su," Xue said. "Nothing will happen to you here." She patted her head and in a short time, Su stopped screaming.
That was when she had remembered to practice what Doctor Wang had told her. Why had she forgotten in the first place? She had been so horrified when she had seen that. Definitely, Su knew that Ren had not seen his daughter and that meant that she must have been hallucinating.
