Chapter 2 - Dereliction

Ever since he was young he had been called a derelict he never knew exactly what it ment no one would tell him.

He had to assume it was bad or because he was a slave but the masters would only back hand him when he asked so eventually he stoped asking.

What he didn't know was it was caused by his father who was so poor he sold his son into slavery just to be abel you feed his mother and younger siblings.

As a slave he he was forced to do manual labor such as plowing and tending fields, and cleaning the fat masters house or organization of food he was not allowed to touch.

He never touched that food no matter how hungry he got he had another slave, a friend who did and the tore him apart. Literally with horses,

since the man was the masters property it was not considered murder.

Derelict grew up in ragged clothing and bare feet and was beaten constantly but it never robbed him of his dignity like it did the others.

Slaves were never told of the land of illusions the masters believed they were not good enough or to stupid to comprehend it anyway.

It was also a way to keep them from wanting more than what the masters gave them.

When he was around 13 derelict saw another of his fellow slaves torn by the horses for a reason that did not justify the punishment. This time though it was a close friend he often slept in the dirt next to him and looked out for him. Toeko was a few years older than him and look at derelict as his little brother.

Derelict had mad the mistake of falling and crushing the masters wife's favorite set of flowers and when the wife came out to see what the sound was because he hit his back on the side of the house when he fell. She found them standing near the flower garden.

Derelict fell into a deep depression after watching them kill his friend. The day was done and he sat still crying with is legs crossed and his head in his hand.

After a few hours he fell asleep in that position not moving. Although it wasn't exactly sleep he had entered the illusions.
