Slowly but surely I walk down the cavern keeping my guard up because an enemy could strike at any moment. After walking down the cavern for a few minutes I run into a small problem, the cave divides into two different pathways. If I pick the wrong one it could be a trap so I must be careful in choosing. I focus my magic energy within and use enhancement magic again this time to enhance my senses. When focusing on my senses the main sense that gets a boost is my hearing so I listen down both paths in hopes of hearing someone. I hear nothing down the left path but I do hear something coming from down the right path. It sounds like footsteps.
I then cautiously head down the right path to see if it's one of the slayers. I hear the footsteps get closer and closer to me. My hand goes down to my sword as I slowly approach the footsteps. I still can't see who or what is coming my way even with my torch. I quietly say "Hello" to them. After that I hear a growl. It's a growl I'd recognize anywhere, I've heard it a million times. That was the growl of a Goblin.
I then unsheathed my sword, placed the torch on the ground, and got ready for a fight. I slowly walk closer hoping to see the thing but the light isn't revealing the vile beast. Then all of a sudden the Goblin jumps right out of the darkness and runs straight toward me at a ludicrous speed. It's mouth covered in drool, it's fingernails as sharp as knives, and as well it's almost as tall as me. It then goes in to strike me down letting out a nasty growl. I block it's blow with my thin but mighty blade. I push the Goblin backwards and it then begins to howl. It comes right back at me with lightning fast strikes, all of which I'm able to block but it does take a lot of effort.
The Goblin backs up after failing to hit me even once. I then see an opportunity to strike the monster down and I take it. I swing my blade as hard I can aiming right for the beasts neck. That little Goblin was able to block the attack with his sharp blade like nails but in the process the nails were all broken making him unarmed. Stupidly the Goblin didn't realize his blades were gone as he ran up to me trying to stab me yet again. It jumps right in front of my face and I take my blade and slice it's head clean off it's shoulders.
I need to focus, that fight is so unlike me. Never have I ever taken that long to kill something as weak as an average Goblin even with those uniquely weird finger knives of his. Focus Aleister!! Focus!!
I pick the torch up as I continue down the pathway, picking up the pace a little bit while still being cautious of my surroundings. It's mostly quiet as I walk down this gross and dusty cavern. But then I begin to hear noise, not footsteps this time, but the sound of crying. I listen carefully as I walk forward. There's no mistaking it that noice I hear is definitely crying, but not from an adult but from the sounds of it a child. I go down the path faster and faster, soon I start hearing more things coming from up ahead like the groans from other people and the growling of Goblins. As I go further I begin to see a light, I then put down my torch so the Goblins won't see me coming.
I reach the end of the path and reach the light. The light is coming from these shining crystals hanging from the ceiling of this very large cavern that the path brought me towards. In this cavern I see many Goblins by the looks of it at least a dozen or so. But even worse then that I see a much more dangerous creature then a regular Goblin, I see a Goblin King. Goblin King's are the most dangerous type of Goblin there is, there as strong as nearly twenty normal Goblins put into one. In the corner of the cavern I see people what looks like mostly villagers. But wait a second I see them as well, The Crimson Slayers are there two. Most of them looked pretty banged up. It was probably because of the Goblin King. That bastard is massive, he looks to be almost eight feet tall. A very intimidating beast indeed, but a beast I believe can be handled with. The only problem is those other Goblins, I'm very strong but I can't handle taking on all the Goblins along with the King, at least not if I want the Slayers and the villagers to make it out of the cave alive.
I observe the room and try to think of a strategy when something I didn't notice caught my eye. Behind the massive Goblin King I see two or three Goblins hunched over what appears to be a dead body that looks only a few days old. It's absolutely repulsive but I don't react at all do to seeing dark things like this in my past. While I've made my way down here and began trying to figure out strategies that child who is one of the villagers continues to cry. Seeing things as disgusting as this kids seen today, I wouldn't blame him. But the Goblin King got more mad as the crying went on and had enough. He said "That is it!!! I've put up with this unrelenting whining for long enough!!! YOU, UNDERLINING BRING THAT CHILD TO ME!!!! It's time for a snack". The child tries to run away. The villagers are very scared, too scared to even try to defend the kid. But the Crimson Slayers all gather around the kid to protect him. Amanda then says "We don't care if you took are weapons from us. We won't let you kill a kid. So if you want to get to him you have to go through us!!!".
"FINE DIE ALONG WITH THE BRAT, IN FACT I'LL KILL YOU ALL MYSELF!!! " shouts the Goblin King. He runs straight toward them with what looked to be Morgan's axe in hand in order to kill them. Looking at this I completely forget coming up with a strategy and sprint to them in order to block the attack from the Goblin King. The Goblin King is so enraged he doesn't notice me running to them and I'm moving so fast that the other Goblins don't even have time to react before I reach the King. As I ran I focused a good amount of magical energy all within my right hand. I then intercept the Goblin King before he reaches the Slayers and I hit him with a surprise uppercut that sends him to the ground and sends Morgan's axe flying in the air, it lands right next to me. I quickly toss the Axe to Morgan unsheath my blade and scream "SLAYERS!!!! GET THESE PEOPLE THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!!! THE ENTRANCE OF THE CAVE IS OPEN, I'LL COVER YOUR ESCAPE!!!".
They nod and Amanda and the others lead the villagers to the exit. As they leave I begin fighting the other Goblins. As the villagers leave Morgan stays behind to help me take on the Goblins. Him with his axe and me with my sword we slice through each of the Goblins one by one. Within a minute all of the normal ones were dead at our feet. The Goblin King however was just getting started. He got and laughed at me saying "Wow, you caught me off guard there little human. But that is the only time you'll ever see me get knocked down again".
I look to Morgan and say "Leave this one to me, I'm don't want to hold back anymore so you need to go. Help the villagers escape alright". Morgan with worried look nodded and left the cavern.
To go all out in this fight I can't just rely on my enhancement magic. I tend not to use this magic due to it's destructive power but I must because it's the only thing in my arsenal that will be able to take this big son of a bitch down. I must use my Elemental Magic. Elemental Magic allows the user to be able to conjure and control a certain element. People who use this magic each only get one element, my element is fire.
"Sending your friend away that takes…. well I was gonna say guts but I'd say in this case it's arrogance. You're blinded by arrogance. Mercenaries, I've killed many of you before, hundreds in fact, high leveled ones at that. You people always think you're so strong and that you can take on anything, but once you all go up against me that confidence in yourself disappears. But enough of this talk, let's fight. I want to end your life quickly so I can maybe recapture those villagers." says the Goblin King.
While he was monologuing over there I was preparing my mind, body, and spirit for battle. Spreading my magic energy around my body and envisioning the very flames I will conjure for battle.
"Fine, let's finish this already." I calmly say to him.
The fight begins. He starts by running at me and trying a right hook to my head but I avoid the attack. Enraged by me dodging it he angrily punches down at me but I jump over him to where his back is turned with his punch hitting the ground instead, causing debris and dust to go straight forward. From his back side I conjure fire on my right hand. Then I strike him from the back right where his heart should be. My fire burns a hole right through his chest and the flames keep going till they hit the walls covering a lot of the cavern in my flames. The Goblin King immediately died and collapsed to the ground from my punch.
"Hey, didn't you say I'd never see you get knocked down again?" I say mockingly to his corpse. I go to the corner and grab what appears to be the Crimson Slayers weapons. I carry the gear on my back and leave the cave. I arrive to the surface where the Slayers and all of the villagers were waiting. Everyone each individually thanks me for saving them. It felt weird, I'm not really used to that kind of stuff, but at the same time it felt good. I give the Slayers their gear back and we tell the villagers that we'll escort them back into town.
Well the job is done, looks like the rescue mission was a complete success. Mission accomplished.
