As I waited for Nikola I turned to the mirror and saw a monocle that's covered in clock parts. (So I'm my own annoying ticking clock? Heh, damn that's actually pretty funny. I'm truly lucky I have such an amazing little brother.) Nikola returned with a pair of white gloves, a midnight blue outfit with a matching top hat and a Guy Fawkes mask to complete the look. He also handed me a stylish jade green cane with an owl figure head on it. "Why are you giving me these?" "We may have our differences but you're still my big brother and I have no use for this stuff as you can see I'm always in my lab. Oh and I got two more things for you. I'll be right back." I looked back down at the clothes and started to think back:
"Jackson! JACKSON!" I turned around to see a young Nikola and I smiled as he ran to me with hope in his eyes. "What's up Nik?" "I found this near Vona's bed."
Nikola handed me a note and a shimmering scale of some kind. The note read: "Beware of the booming thunder and the clouds filled with lightning of the night of your first kill. I will appear and be a guide to either your longevity or your demise. Signed a friend that appears from the misty lightning." I turned over the shimmering scale and as the lightning crashed an engraving of R.I.P. Less. I stumbled back and fell near the fireplace. "What's wrong Jackson?" Nikola ran to my side. "It's nothing Nik just had a small fright it's nothing to be worried about I promise." I ruffled his hair and told him to get ready for bed.
"Will you read me a bed time story?" "Yeah, what do you want to hear tonight?" "The Headless Horseman!" "Alright, go get ready I'll be there in a minute." Jackson turned to the roaring fire as he fiddled with the note then tossed the note in the fire and watched as it burned. (I can't allow him to interfere with Nikola's life so I must distance myself from him tonight. I'm sorry Nikola, I love you and I hope you can forgive me.)
